Email me when somebody replies to Forum discussion not working

not sure if its a setting but despite checking the box to Subscribe to a discussion topic, I have never got any emails when somebody replies to a Forum discussion?

Hi Hopster, The check box is set by default...are you checking it again, which perhaps unchecks it? Did you get this reply? Mark

Hi Hopster, Check your My Account tab and make sure your email address is set correctly? I saw the popup post info...will take a look at it as soon as I can. Mark

@hopster: Maybe we send real spam! So kidding. Email services are getting harder and harder these days and for sure our outbound server is 'basic.' I think eventually we'll need to pay a third party like SendGrid or MailChimp or something to begin processing outbound mail. Bummer but may not be anyway around it because so many services flag forum mail as spam.

the email I'm using is a company domain name so its not as if its a hotmail type account which normally do cause an issue. One smtp server we have been recommended for such issues is sendgrid.
