R.I.P GoNorthWest.

The world lost an amazing human this week. Buzztouch lost an amazing community member this week. I lost an amazing friend this week - and so did you - even if you never met him. Trust me, he was your friend whether you realized it or not. Mark Flemming (@GoNorthWest) lost his long battle with health problem but not before leaving his incredible mark on the world. It's safe to say that BT wouldn't have survived in the early days without the generosity of GoNorthWest. He literally helped tens of thousands of people. That's not an exaggeration. A few of you realize this and mentioned it in a different post here: https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=16E4BFB251A5A4EECCDC152 I've been away from BT for awhile but felt compelled to pen this post. It's impossible to express enough gratitude for Mark in this forum but I trust BT will find a way to memorialize his efforts in an appropriate way. I'll do what I can to facilitate this. Mark, I'll always remember you, your beautiful family, your amazing view on life and your ridiculously simple "first app" - that we got in the App Store after weeks of battling Cupertino! Rest in Peace my friend. David

Heartbreaking. What a wonderful person was lost indeed. I only knew him through this forum, but definitely felt like I knew him personally. I was always amazed by his generosity, knowledge, kindness and encouragement. Just an outstanding person. Sad day for the BT community and beyond.

To give you an understanding of how much he contributed to this forum, here is an incredible stat: Mark in his 2000 odd days of being a member, viewed a BT forum over 95,000 times, and on average he posted to the forum 1 in 10 of those visits. He was a selfless giver in everything he did. We were honoured to be part of his life. RIP our friend.

Go in peace, Mark. Buzztouch wouldn't have been the same without you. Neither would I.

Rest in Peace Mark. I would not be where I am today without you. It was a privilege to get to know you, and work with you.

Mark epitomised the best spirit of the buzztouch forum. When I first started he was a real inspiration. I bet there isn't a single person who reads this thread that he didn't unconditionally help. It is a sombre day.

I only knew Mark via the forums (and one or two e-mails). I never read a forum post of his that was anything other than positive, constructive, progressive, candid, and friendly. He embodied the values of Buzztouch, and set the example for how we should generally be toward one another online. I'm very glad Mark happened; his memory may very well stick with me as a model attitude to which I should aspire. Maybe we name the forums after him? The GoNorthWest Forum...well, I guess every place except the complaints section :) Best wishes to his family. Thank you for sharing him with us.

Godspeed Mark. Naming the forum with something containing GoNorthWest would be more than appropriate, something witty would be too. Bet he'd like that.

Wow what a bummer, so sad to hear this. They always take the good ones early for some reason. They must have needed to learn Android up there and someone to make vids. Guy had a heart of gold, incredibly patient and beyond friendly. I can see why he was recruited but it's not fair. God bless his family, I can't imagine :(

On behalf of Mr. David: Hi guys, This really sucks to hear, Mark was and always will be a good friend to Samantha and myself. I was caught off-guard finding this thread as I thought he was winning the battle... Mark came to our wedding 3 years ago to take pictures and they came out wonderfully, so now we'll cherish those pictures even more. Mark also bought my Jeep Wrangler a few years ago and would send pictures of him and his kids having adventures with it. My thoughts and well wishes to his family, I don't need to echo that he was an amazing person to have known. It would be great to see him in the Top 25 somewhere, I noticed he's not there right now. And thanks to Smug for posting my message, I can't access the forum anymore. Rest in Peace, Mark. MrDavid & Samantha

The heart of buzztouch... nicknamed long ago appropriately. His family was so young and gifted. Perhaps someone could start up a gofundme page or a contribution page for the family? He did countless hours of videos and 1:1 help just to keep the buzztouch dream alive. I can honestly say he paved a road to Christianity for me and loving android development... Just in shock. So sad Rest in Peace brother.

A fund has been set up for the Fleming family at https://www.youcaring.com/michellefleming-1028667 to help with the many expenses they have had in recent months and will have in the coming days.

Incredibly sad news. I didn't know him at all, but I don't think anybody can argue the fact that he was one of the most valuable intellectual assets to this website back in the glory days of Buzztouch (2012-2014). And then even after the forum died I would always see him trying to help out newcomers. He just seemed like a genuinely awesome dude. Rest In Peace buddy
