The free offer for a free blackberry playbook offer has been extended! You will probally have to adjust some things in the code to get it working perfect but it shouldn't be too hard for most of you to figure out. The new deadline to submit a Vendor Account for approvel to RIM is February 15, 2012. The new deadline for app submission is March 2, 2012. March 2?! Man! They should give out a PlayBook to all of us who busted our butts to meet the Feb 13th deadline! I wonder if this says anything about the quality of submissions, the number of submissions, or both? Mark

This is great news, though it bugs me a bit that they keep changing their terms. I went through a lot of hassle to get a notary form signed, and now they no longer require it. They also seem to have changed their Feb. 15 vendor account deadline, because I don't see it on the official rules page. Regardless, I'm glad they made things right by extending the deadline. Having waited six days now for account approval, I wouldn't been a bit sore if they hadn't. Kudos to RIM on the move.

I did reapply this morning. Just waiting for the email asking me to send in my documentation. Hopefully things will go a bit smoother this time.

I think you still have to e-mail them a scan of your driver's license. If not, then that's great. I'll find out soon enough when I receive the e-mail.

Just received approval for my account. It took about six hours from when I submitted it. No paperwork required, not even a driver's license. Thank you for the advice, Fred. Much appreciated!

You guys have it easy! Mine took 2 days and I had to submit driver license and everything! Still waiting for my playbook to ship.

What are you talking about?? The playbook is a very very good piece of hardware and QNX is a wonderful OS! The only thing it is missing is apps. That is why they are having this promotion. Apps = sales. I really don't get where you are coming from here...

Been about a week and still waiting for them to review both of my apps. It's a painful time! Considering I didn't change the formatting I am half expecting rejection... :(

Rejection is good. I love rejection. Early rejection will give you time to fix what's wrong. I'm hoping a few people will post their rejections so we can learn to learn so we can fix it before we submit apps. So, no ill will, but I hope you get rejected soon. Fred

Lol... Apparently if you post the app on during the offer period, you'll still get the free playbook even if you take months to fix up the app. I'm sure I'll need all the help I can get when I'm fixing the app, so I'll definitely post the message I get here. May even consider paying a forum member for assistance, if necessary.

I'm documenting a how-to, hope to publish it this week. Only reason to pay is if you don't have the time, but how to will be there. Fred

That's awesome! Thanks! The only stuff I changed was removing the map, and making a really big background image. I also made the change to prevent the ring of death. I hope its enough, I mentioned in the notes with my submission that I would tidy up the UI in a few days. Anyway, I live in hope. Can't wait for the howto!

My Buzztouch app is still awaiting approval but my Playbook should be coming tomorrow! Would have been here today but this darn holiday messed everything up.

Mine just got accepted :) Hopefully, I get the email asking for my shipping address soon. FYI, it was my BT 1.4 quiz app.

I managed to get two submitted (one last night, one a couple weeks ago before the 'first' deadline). Got the 'approval' letter for my first...hoping they select it so I can get that PlayBook! Mark

Couple of questions: Is the BlackBerry App world free? Are they just waiving the fee temporarily? Can you side load Blackberry (bar) apps? I understand (per Sourceforge) you can sideload (bypass App World) Android Apps, has anyone done so & what was your experience? Fred

App was approved on Wednesday for the playbook!! Waiting for that nice delivery email also @GoNorthWest. I've almost covered all of the major appstores: iTunes, Android Play, Appworld, Amazon and hopefully next Nook! Good luck to everyone who submitted for the playbook
