One of the Android apps that I have triggers AVG Malware popup. Any ideas?

I had the same problem when submitting to the Samsung Store. Really not sure why. But I did have advertising in this particular app. Really not sure and it was the 1.4version code.. I haven't tried again. I'm 100% sure there is no Malware but something in the code triggers something I guess.. I've experienced it ONLY while submitting to the Samsung store using 1.4 and ported to 2.0.. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Yeah. This one is also 1.4. I'm currently working on a v2.0 of it. Trying to figure out why it would trigger it though.

Yeah, most likely I'll just redo the app or submit other. Its weird however.

I used the original package name when I did the 1.4. Having a real hard time changing the v2.0 apps name to match.

Anyone using leadbolt for advertising? Their jar file triggers avg for me, it's clean though. I guess other ad networks may have similar problems, but I haven't come across any others yet.

In that particular app I was using airpush. i believe i mentioned it to you before @raveyd. But it only occurred with 1.4 because an app with 2.0 using the same ads from airpush was approved without triggers. Scratching my head.. ps. I only saw this trigger when uploading to the samsung market. otherwise i would not have known about it

v1.4 uses api4 for android 1.6 I think? Most (all?) ad networks have a minimum api level 8 - android 2.2. I wonder if incompatibility with 1.6 is the problem?

Hmm .. I just checked my eclipse and yes it is set for 1.6. I will change it to 2.2 and resubmit to see if that was the problem. Its very possible. I'll post back my results, thanks!

I'd be interested in the results. 2.2 is a sort of cut off to the next level of Android. You don't see many apps now that have a minimum build below 2.2. It might work fine or it might blow up! Interesting to see what happens. PS, you'd probably need to change the min-sdk level in the manifest too.
