SlideME vs Google Play app stores

Hello!
Thanks to Buzztouch enthusiasm I have published my first app for android.

http://slideme.org/application/top-talk-time

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cjomapps.toptalktime

Now I would like to share my (short) experience.

I decided to try SlideME before going to Google Play store.
Two weeks may be a very short time for conclusions, but I must say that my first impression is much more in favor of SlideME than Google Play.

Maybe there are too much apps for one to get noticed on Google Play or maybe SlideME users are more willing to try new apps, but my app (which I know is not a "killer app" one uses every day several times) has consistently being downloaded every day since the first day on SlideME, while the same app in Google Play only was downloaded by half a dozen friends I managed to talk them to try it.

Just wanted to share this :-)
Thank you!

Carlos

I suppose a lot depends on the type of app, user demographic etc. I gave up on SlideME quite a long while ago as installs were poor. On the other hand, with my entertainment type apps, Getjar gets a lot of installs and aptoide is pretty good as well. @CJOMapps, I think you make a very good point about apps not getting noticed on google play, so exploring other options is definitely something we should do.

Congratulations on publishing that app! :-)

Was it done with the BuzzTouch framework?

Thank you.
I watched the BuzzTouch learning videos and then started one project with the BuzzTouch framework but then decided to do something simpler from scratch.

I like to master the basics... :-)

I've updated my app and I am trying appia.com, but I am confused with how it works and can't figure where can I find public links to my app...

Let me add something about Google Play: AFTER someone rated my app downloads started to increase. :-) Before that, nix.

But I really like the ability to see the countries where our apps are installed!

Regards,
Carlos
