Good reasons why Apple might reject your app

This blog post identifies and explains reasons why Apple might reject the initial submittal of your app to their review process. Bases on reports within this forum, I've added the first two items. 0. It uses HTML for most of it's user interface. Very few native UI elements were used in the app. 1. It should have been a book, not an app. 2. Use of the word “beta” in the description or the title. You are somehow indicating that your app is unfinished. 3. Takes a long time to load the app, too long of a delay before one can interact with the app. 4. Uses external e-commerce payment systems rather than the built-in In-App Purchases. 5. References other mobile platform, therefore shifting the focus away from your iOS-based app. 6. Terminology, currency and notations must work for the country and region in use -- localizations must be accurate and appropriate. 7. The file system must be used as designed by Apple. Only user-generated content should be in the iCloud backup-able area. The static "never-changes" content should be in a different part of the app's file system. 8. Crashes when the User denies access to Contacts, Photos, Calendars, location, calendar, reminders, Bluetooth, Twitter and Facebook. The app must continue to operate without any mishaps if the User is protective of his privacy. 9. Misuse of icons. For example, a pencil icon should always represent the creation of content. 10. Unlicensed use of trademarks and logos. http://venturebeat.com/2013/02/08/9-surprising-reasons-mobile-apps-get-rejected-from-the-apple-app-store/ -- Niraj

Good find Niraj. You should make this into a How-To guide - "how to not get your app rejected by Apple!" :)

Good idea to start this list Niraj. Oh... I remembered I haven't had the time to answer your last question. I'll get to that!
