Turns out the fix is super easy (thanks, Niraj, for pointing out the fix!), and David Book has made the necessary changes on his end. If you download a new Android project package, you'll pick up the new fix, and all should be well! So, if you download a new package with just that plugin selected, you can just paste it into any project where maps isn't working.
