Using a flickr stream into Mac Image Gallery

Hi guys, I'd like to find how to use the MacImage Gallery as a stream from Flickr. It's pretty easy to explain, because that's pretty much it. I presume I would change something in the Screen Data URL section, but to what link. I've tried a few links, with no success.

you need to create a flickr app and get an api key, then paste this link as your Data URL - http://api.flickr.com/services/rest/?method=flickr.people.getPublicPhotos&api_key=YOUR_API_KEY&user_id=YOUR_USER_ID&per_page=500&format=json replace YOUR_API_KEY with the api key you get after creating your Flickr app. To create an app, go to this link - http://www.flickr.com/services/apps/create/apply/ - and apply for a non-commercial key. Even though it says "apply", you will get the key immediately. You also need to replace YOUR_USER_ID with your user id. To find this, go to your photo stream and look at the url in your browser search bar. It will look something like this - http://www.flickr.com/photos/00112233@N01/ - the "00112233@N01" part will be your user id (but of course, it will be something different)

That did the trick! ...now you're wondering how I did it so quickly.

Actually, I already had the api set up, and I was already copying and pasting the (what would be) 'wrong' User ID. So you did actually help out, because I'd still be in a huff trying to find the User ID!

I would be so sure for Instagram, although they do have an API section. If Instagram had a section similar to this, I'm sure that it would be similar. But if you're getting stuck, you could always transfer the images to Flickr.

Are any of you finding that the Flickr API limits you to only showing 25 photos. I have already loaded 40 photos with hundreds more to come from users, but if it only limits me to 25, that is pathetic. I need a minimum of at least 200. But how? Is it something just to do with my account or API, or is it a Flickr thing?

@Annandale Apps - are you using the same data URL format as the one that I posted? If you look at mine you can see the "per_page=500" part near the end. That works for me - it shows 500 images in my gallery. You can change it to a number lower than 500 if you want but I think that 500 is the max

Works! I don't know what went wrong before. Of course, I could have used sets, but I think it's better to have a live streaming thing, as long as spam doesn't populate the thing.

If you want, you can set it so that all images are uploaded as private. Then you can occasionally moderate it and delete the spammy pictures, then set the good ones to public. I had an app that got pretty popular and people actually started uploading pornographic pics - it got pretty ugly & killed my reviews, so now I moderate all images before making them public
