I use fast hosts and the DB payments seem really high. im having issues with my self hosting and i think its because i have maxed my 300MB DB and they want another £25 pa to increase by 150MB who does everyone else use and what are the costs? how big is the Db that you get? In the UK I use https://www.vidahost.com and its pretty cheap in my opinion and I have never had a problem in general with hosting there. I don't run the self hosted there but I'm sure it shouldnt be an issue. I've used complex scripts at times without any issues or asking for permissions for certain processes. At anytime, It never took more the 15m to get a reply for any Issue I had. I've tested Lunarpages, Hostgator, Arvixe and Siteground. Cheers.
