CodeBox - Something we all should be using

Hi all, I have used this application for a while, and I find it incredibly useful. I saw Smug post that he recommended it, and just thought I should echo his words. If it weren't for Smug, I wouldn't be posting this, so thanks! So this app is essentially a storage for all the code you have. I use it for the modifications I make for the app, so I know what code to put in where. It is a code snippet keeper. It organises it into different code and also stores it in the menu bar, which means you have access to it all the time. It's $10 (or £6 for people with the proper currency). I would certainly recommend you dish out your wallet for this one! It's so worth it! https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/codebox/id412536790?mt=12

I love code box! Picked it up in a bundle a while back. Here's some snippets I use. Some are out of date with 3.0 projects, but still some good stuff. Would love to see what other people have... https://www.dropbox.com/s/vixyajy3xfirwgs/XCode%20Snippets%20copy%202.cbxml

If you're a windows person you might try this: http://www.snippetmanager.net Thanks for the kind Words, Thomas. If I find something useful, I'm happy to pass it on. Feraco: Similar to Chris, I'm revising my codebox file for iOS 7 and reorganizing a few things too. I'm almost embarrased at how unorganized it is, but you're welcome to grab 'what I have' in the interim… https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/115208762/SmugSnips.cbxml Cheers! -- Smug

This does look like an improvement over my Notepad++ and Finder methods. I've used stuff from snipplr before like this. Working code snippets are gold and seems to be a lot of codebox shares out there. You don't recall what site had the bundle do you? I see an old $2 Tuesday link for 1/2 price but it's dead now. and speaking of bundles - this was was in my email yesterday for 2,800 free icons: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/2800-icons-for-developers/id786188363?mt=12 Do you guys notice any system performance hits when you have apps like Codebox or that that Icon Searcher running in the status bar? Are these little apps system resource hogs like they are on Windows?

You can also get the free icon pack straight from their web site at http://www.icons8.com Nice folks, they are! Thanks for the tip on Codebox, I will check it out later today. Not happy with Xcode's snippet keeper. -- Niraj

Some great stuff in these repositories: https://github.com/lukabernardi/CodeBox-Library https://github.com/ablfx/CodeBox looking for more.... Bit of a learning curve here to learn how to organize these things and build libraries - but there's no substitue for having proper syntax one can cut/paste! This app does seem to slow my Airbook down a bit when it's running.
