Because the code tends to break as it ages with new operating system and hardware releases, it may be a good idea for Plugin developers to upload their plugins to GitHub so that everyone in the community can maintain the plugins. Most of the time, when I develop a plugin, it is from a need for a project. I don't have a problem putting up my 'free' plugins to github... But of course, not the commercial releases. It is a good idea for developers to have some code on Github, as it is the first place other developers will look to see your code. I'd be happy to put my plugins out there.
