App not loading on Samsung galaxy S4

Strange issue here. Can't get our new Android Core 3.0 apps to load on some Galaxy S4 devices. We have an S4 that works fine for us but we have had several complaints that our apps can not be downloaded on just S4's. When you download the app the splash screen comes up and then the error loading screen pops up. We have made sure the pictures within the app are the right size. Any suggestions? Also, the apps seem to work fine on all other Androids.

How odd. If it works on 'some' and not 'all' ? Time for testing. Change the content of your current home screen. Any difference? Change your home screen to something else. Any difference? Change the API build of the app. Any difference? Try anything you can to ensure that it will or will not work in a specific situation. And good luck! Cheers! -- Smug

Hi ridgerock It is worth noting that Samsung provide emulators to test your app. You have to create an account (free) and you get a limited number of testing credits: http://developer.samsung.com/remotetestlab/rtlDeviceList.action# You will note there are quite a few different versions of the s4 working on different android versions which is likely to be he cause of the problem. I had the same problem with the s3. One friend said my app worked fine on their s3 and another said it didn't.

The remote test lab is also faster than the AVD emulator in Eclipse - in my experience.

I have just spotted this, but haven't used it yet - Samsung SDK download including emulators http://developer.samsung.com/android/technical-docs/Using-Samsung-Emulators-for-Android-Application-Development On a similar note, Sony provide an SDK to run their devices on the AVD emulator - which I have used before and find very useful (I think @cmcoffee posted this originally, so hats off to him for finding it): http://developer.sonymobile.com/knowledge-base/sony-add-on-sdk/install-the-sony-add-on-sdk/

I have just released an app on BT 3.0 that I have been told won't run at all on a Galaxy SIII. Just wondering, did you ever get to the bottom of this?
