Maps problem in android

hi all. I have a problem with maps. configure everything according to the readme.txt file. Out my position on the map. OK. Sale target position I instructed. OK. the problem is not passing the background image of the map. Everything else is perfect. Any suggestions? Use Android 1.6 api. Sorry for my English, is the translator of google, I hope you understand. Greetings

You're doing well. We FAILED to document that you need to make one last adjustment if you are running in Release mode. The issue prevents the map tiles (images) from downloaded. a) Open your project b) Find the location map.xml layout file in your Eclipse project. It's in res/layout/screen_locationmap.xml c) Change a string in this file: Change this: android:apiKey=@string/googleMapsAPIKeyDebug to this: @string/googleMapsAPIKeyRelease Leave the value surrounded by the quotes. d) Recompile in RELEASE mode. All should be well.

sorry, make the change you said and the error persists. Once you click on the destination, the map works, but before you do this just go without a map image. Greetings

Not sure then. The only thing that controls the map tiles is the Google Map's API Key. If the key matches the build configruation (Release or Debug), the tiles will load. If they dont', they will not. We do hear this alot and it's difficult to understand. The idea is that you have two API's in your strings.xml file. One for Debug and one for Release. The only adjustment you should have to make when building is setting the locationmap.xml (layout file) to point to which key you are building for. Not sure how else to advise.
