SIGABRT troubles

Since I updated my iphone to 4.3 I can't install my app on my device for testing. I can get the simulator to load no problem but whenever I try to install on my phone I get the SIGABRT message in xcode and my app never installs. This happened to me before but I just restarted xcode and it was fine. I've tried restarting my phone and even my laptop and keep getting that message. Any other ideas? Maybe it just needs to think about it overnight and will work in the morning?? Josh

This is what the debug screen showed... Program received signal: ?SIGABRT?. [Switching to thread 13315] [Switching to thread 13315] warning: Unable to read symbols for /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/4.3 (8F190)/Symbols/Developer/usr/lib/libXcodeDebuggerSupport.dylib (file not found).

NO idea - yikes. We have not officially announced any 4.3 support but have compiled the existing source successfully, and installed it without any trouble. Are you stuck in the Xcode black-hole where you can't go back to the original version? You may try looking in the Frameworks folder (in the Xcode project) and making sure they are all listed. You could also try removing them (one by one so you don't get confused) and re-adding them. Control Click the folder > Add > Exisitng Frameworks.

Tried again this morning and no luck. A quick google search looks like others are having the same problem. I only had xcode 3.2 so downloading version 4 now with 4.3 support but its 4gb.... may take awhile. I'll check after work.

I made things worse. Xcode now has a somewhat different interface and I keep getting errors and can't even load my app in the simulator now. ARGH

false alarm... just re-downloaded my project and it worked fine on the simulator. Then added all my custom htmls, docs and pics and still worked great. Now it's back on my phone! WOOHOOO

So all you did was to re-download the source? I got a similar message. warning: Unable to read symbols for /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/4.3 (8F190)/Symbols/Developer/usr/lib/libXcodeDebuggerSupport.dylib (file not found). i just closed and re-ran xcode and tried with iPhone 4.3 simulator in buzztouch 1.5 app and the splash screen with curl effect now works fine... 2011-03-21 17:14:55.231 isabelledutoit[16074:207] BT_screen_splash: downloadFileInProgress: 100% 2011-03-21 17:14:55.389 isabelledutoit[16074:207] BT_fileManager: saveImageToFile: IsabelleduToit_ResourcesFullDetail1.jpg 2011-03-21 17:14:55.390 isabelledutoit[16074:207] BT_screen_splash: downloadFileCompleted: Success 2011-03-21 17:14:55.390 isabelledutoit[16074:207] BT_fileManager: getImageFromFile: IsabelleduToit_ResourcesFullDetail1.jpg 2011-03-21 17:14:55.390 isabelledutoit[16074:207] BT_fileManager: File does exist in cached directory: IsabelleduToit_ResourcesFullDetail1.jpg 2011-03-21 17:14:55.392 isabelledutoit[16074:207] BT_screen_splash: setImage 2011-03-21 17:14:58.393 isabelledutoit[16074:207] BT_screen_splash: animating splash screen however, when I stop the simulator, and try it with iPad 4.3 simulator it crashes again. Get SIGABRT immediately after build (successful) running on 4.3 simulator. Any ideas? Was working fine on prior versions of IOS. Thanks. update: a) Clear cache b) remove app c) download source d) build again e)test ok on simulator and ipod touch with IOS4.3.3 now, except that some images with titles in a gallery only display the title, not the images. That is still an issue ...I think today with timeouts when doing a refresh...not sure but at least the app runs and builds.

@ Miereter: This issue may be related to your previous gallery thing where the images had spaces in the file names. Not sure but probably.

Well but why does the images display fine when they have no title description and as soon as I add titles some of them no longer displays. Maybe I am missing something but it is strange that they work fine without titles. I used font 12 and display at bottom. Some work, some don't.

Not sure. What I am sure of is that iOS freaks out when it encounters URL's to images that contain spaces. Without first getting that fixed up the app could do all sorts of crazy stuff ;-)
