Hmm, happening to me too. Thought it was an install error.

Hi guys, We've been noticing this behavior too and we've found that if you login a second time, the login will be successful. Can you guys login by submitting your login details a second time? We will look into this further in the meantime.

Hi guys, We've noticed this behavior on our end too. We have found that for us, attempting to login a second time will actually log us in. Can you guys try this (submitting your log in credentials via the submit button on the login screen) a second time, and report back if it works? We'll look into this further in the meantime.

Ok. For now, try this. Download version 2.1.2 of BT-Server ( http://www.buzztouch.com/BT-server/BT-server-beta-2.1.2.zip ) Take this versions index.php file and overwrite the one on your v2.1.3 install. Let us know if this fixes your login issue.

The error is coming up via this url: http://www.apps4ems.com/apps4ems/BT-server/?timedOut=1 It is only about 3 seconds or so after the submit button is pressed.

BT-server 2.1.3 I'm not getting that error. I get the following in a popup box... Data for the screen has not been downloaded. Please check your internet connection. My connection is fine. I have internet on the Ipad2 with no problems. Both WiFi and Verizon...

Updates / Comments: @ Fonseca: Worldwide outage. Fun to think about but for sure not the issue. Love this one! @ gbakakos: This discussion is about trouble with logging into the self-hosted control panel, not about the phone. The 'data for this screen has not been downloaded' is a message on the device, not in the control panel. If the device is not downloading it's data, it's an entirely different issue and could be caused by a ga-zillion things ;-) @ WolfTimJ: Still looking. We are seeing the 'two attempts needed' symptom on two machines. Also hearing it from @Fonseca (twice works). I'm updating some login info, using the info you sent earlier (to log into your panel) and will send an email and will post here when we get it figured out.

OK. Project updated. Fingers crossed. I was able to duplicate this problem over and over again so I'm confident we have it. See change log. There are only two files that changed. This means you don't have to go through the update process entirely if you don't want to. But, the update process is what sets your version (this is 2.1.4) so you'll need do do that manually if you skip the update process. Anyway...two files changed... /BT-server/index.php /BT-server/account/index.php Upload those two files (after getting the new ones) or upload the entire project.

Gets to the Control Panel now, but any link selection after that boots you out and back to the login screen. Dumb question, hoping that I didn't cause this; during the installation process is the config.php changed other than by us inputting the DB info? I ask this because I think I may have overwritten the config.php file with one that I pre-configured with the DB info. It is from the same BT-Server version but not the file that was present on my server up to that point in the installation instructions. I looked through the code and it doesn't appear to matter but I thought I'd mention it.

Frustrating - totally get it. Not sure what's happening here. I can say there are literally thousands of these running (already) so for sure it's doable. However, like anything else, tons of things 'could' be going on. The login session management is relativly simple, as far as .PHP web apps go. Your clue, the one you posted above, may offer some clues as to what's happening. And, like you mentioned, you're probably not alone in this. Just becuase we havn't heard it doesn't mean it's not happening to other! LOL So, two options here: a) Figure out why your server is having trouble managing sessions. OR b) Email us some login info to your vps and we'll get a look for you. In most cases, this means creating a new login for us so you can remove it when we're done looking into the issue. We've done this a few times and it's usually pretty quick for us to figure out what's up with your box ;-) If B is a good choice, send an email to: info 'at' buzztouch.com. Include in this email: 1) FTP user / pass / login IP or domain 2) Login / pass to your BT-server control panel.
