Uploading my app on application loader to submit to Apple but am not able to.

I am trying to upload my app on Application Loader but am not able to. I understand that Application Loader searches for a zip file, but what zip file i dont know? I cant select the app folder that i downloaded from buzztouch (My Source Code file) as its not zipped. Can anyone help as this extremely frustrating as i have not got a clue to what to do. I even tried to cheat and rename the application folder by inserting a .zip at the end but that did do the trick!

Somebody posted this a while ago, and it looks pretty good. I'll be trying it this weekend with my own app. 1. Find the target info screen - you can find this by clicking on the project name/file under 'targets' in the left side file overview. 2. under the build tab -> find the configuration drop-down menu (On the top left of this screen, at least in my version of xCode) and choose 'release' (Not Debug). 3. Choose your distribution certificate in the 'code signing identity' field. 4. Close this window. 5. Choose build -> clean all targets. 6. Now, in the top left drop-down menu of this window. Choose 'device' and 'release'... 7. Click 'BUILD' only.. 8. Your ready built app will appear in the 'products' folder in the left side 'groups & files' overview. 9. Right click this and choose 'reveal in finder' 10. You should now see your app in finder. This is the file apple wants. Zip it and upload it with application loader : ) Mark

I tried your step by step but am still not able too....(i am using xcode 4) maybe i am not finding the right screens. Man this is so frustrating! Spend almost two months in creating a detailed app with an encyclopedia worth of information only to be hurdled in this last step!

What step are you stuck on exactly? I'm assuming that you know how to build and sign you app since you've probably tested it on your phone?

xcode4 does all of that for you. no need to zip or do any of the older application loader stuff. just archive, validate, and submit.

^ what he said. step one, clean all targets step two, archive step three - launch organizer > archives - hit submit for your archive (will show your archive if archived properly) step four - enter itunes login it will now automatically find your archive and submit it (you must be ready to submit it - and by that I mean you must have already added the app in itunes connect!

Thank you guys, i have worked down all the steps advised and understand what you mean by not needing the Application Loader. Anyhow, I worked down the steps Danliel G Jackson detailed but when I click the Archive Button under Product option bar it comes up with yellow warning /!\ saying: Application failed codesign verification. The signature was invalid, or it was not signed with an Apple submission certificate. (-19011). If i still click the Validate button in the Organizer - Device Window, and enter my log in details it comes up witth an error messaging saying: Xcode encountered an internal logic error. Choose Continue to continue running Xcode in an inconsistent state. Choose Crash to halt Xcode and file a bug with Crash Reporter. Choosing Crash will result in the loss of all unsaved data. - and kicks me out of the Xcode programme. I also read that i need to change the code signing on my app. To do this i need to log into my developer account, create a app store provisioning profile, download it and double click it so it install in xCode. When i did this its came with message in the Organizer Window: Xcode could not find a valid private-key / certificate pair for this profile in your keychain. and in the statuse bar next to the selected file it says: /!\ Valid siging identity not found. I think i am getting close to resolving this but am going wrong somewhere.

Code signing is a hell. Make sure you download both your provisioning profile and developer profile certificates into your keychain. Also make sure these profiles are correctly configured in the website. When you have that all figured out, make sure to change in xcode the code sign option to distribution, and make sure you have the id set as com.whatyouchose.appname. There are many guides out there for this! As for internal error, I received one of these before - I fixed it by downloading a new copy of my source on buzz touch. Best of luck. David.
