Copying an App - Making a Lite version short How to

I spent a solid night figuring out how to copy an app, and I thought I would post the basic rundown of what I did in Xcode for v1.5 1) I have a full complete app (the one I want copied) and downloaded the BT_config.txt file (the apps config file saved in text as BT_config.txt) 2) Started a new app called Blah Free. Downloaded the xcode build. 3) In the Free app, in xcode, I copied the first lines (name, id#, version) of the BT_config.txt file and then replaced it with the first one from my complete app. 4) This is the tricky part. I did not want any updates to this app. I deleted the references in the first few lines to dataurl and cloudurl (replaced them with just ) and I deleted all the instances of the BT_config.txt referencing the website http://www.buzztouch.com/appdata/v1.5.php?command=getChildItems&appGuid=[buzztouchAppId]&apiKey=[buzztouchAPIKey]&screenId=[screenId]. Just left empty quotes. These seemed to refresh the data, so if they were deleted, only the information in BT_config.txt would be read. I left the other website references because some icons or pages were referencing outside websites, and I still needed that. I also wanted ads in the free version. In the new Bt_config.txt file, I searched for includeiAds:0, which says to NOT show ads, and changed them all to includeiAds:1. Some menus did not have includeiAds but just adding it on to the back of the reference url with a comma worked nicely. I now have a full and free version with ads. One references back to the website for updates, the free one comes as-is, and has ads. It took maybe 30 minutes after I figured out what was doing. Hope this helps and doesn't piss buzztouch off.

Doesn't piss anyone off. Thanks for considering us though. You could also do what lots of other folks do. Create your second app, remove all the URL's in the advanced properties of the control panel, then just copy the enter BT_config.txt file to your existing project. Saves a bunch of time. You basically did the same thing manually ;-) Good post...keep it up.
