New plugin submitted for review: HTML Pro

I just finished my latest plugin, "HTML Pro", and submitted it to the market. This plugin allows you to add links to any HTML document (local or online) that point to any plugin screen within your app. The links will only work when the webpage is loaded inside the app, but it allows for easy creating and customizing of menus and other screens. You can even use HTML5, CSS, or Javascript! Here's a demo video showing it off: http://youtu.be/jOJz8lm2tEc Oh, and did I mention it's for both iOS and Android? :)

Chris1, just watched the video, you are the mad scientists. This is a great plugin and will solve me a ton of issues. I don't care what you price this at, I'm going to buy it. This is great news! Solves my cross platform issue.

Hi Chris1 I have had to watch your video about 5 times to make sure I understand what you have done here. I have a question or questions: 1. So I create a custom home page in Jquery mobile, can I use this plugin, to link to other screens in BT? 2. Where do I add my HTML code? in this plugin?

Guess my video could've been a bit clearer, sorry. It all makes sense in my head! ;) 1). Yes, you should be able to use jQuery Mobile just fine. 2). There's a place in the control panel to add either a URL or to select a local file. In the video I used a URL which came from the dataURL property of the "custom HTML/text" plugin used to create the web page.

Hi Chris your video was fine, showed what was needed to show. I guess I couldn't believe such a plugin was on its way as for so long, at least a year, user after user from BT have requested how this could be done.

Yep - and once I solved it, the answer was so simple I couldn't believe nobody figured it out before :)

Here's a screenshot of the section on the Control Panel that lets you set the location of the HTML document: https://dl.dropbox.com/s/n0lg9v7t6hu01u7/Screen%20Shot%202013-04-07%20at%202.32.36%20PM.png?token_hash=AAH3Vln7sVejIYjy0dydMEns-nQiQueWycZ9PzCmjpLasQ&dl=1

I'm not worried about getting it listed - it's much simpler than some of my other plugins - no modifications to the server software this time :)

Nice work. If I wanted to test this sans plug-in- It's just basically a 2 step process? The URL you point to is the BT Item ID? (can use also use the nickname?) Then i just need to retireve the FQBN (I call these Fully Qualified Buzztouch Name) of the actual screen it loads and just use that ID in the href? If so, like you said, simpler than you would think. Definate needed functionality. Thanks!

@ATRAIN53: not quite. The URL you point the link to is just a code generated by the control panel. In BT technobabble, it's the item ID of the child item. But it's not the itemId of the screen you are pointing to. Thus, you won't be able to use the screen nickname for the link either. If you wanted to do manual JSON, it might look something like this: childItems:[ {"itemId":"CodeForYourLink", "itemType":"BT_menuItem", "loadScreenWithItemId":"itemIdOfTheScreenYouAreLinkingTo"} ]

The propeller guys have made a library for iOS and Android that allows a URL to open the specified Screen within an app. We should ask David Book to consider incorporating this functionality into the Core of BuzzTouch. http://usePropeller.com/blog/posts/routable/ -- Niraj

So my next two plugins to be reviewed will be the Vote plugin and the Menu Image Advanced plugin. At least one (possibly both) of those will hopefully be reviewed this week. After that, I've asked the HTML Pro plugin to take the next highest priority, followed by the Webform Generator plugin. No guarantees that it will work out that way, but if all goes well you should see the HTML Pro plugin in the market next week or the week after.

No video, but it's easy to explain. It takes the Menu with Image plugin and adds the following features: 1) Option to turn header image on or off 2) Option to make header image clickable 3) Option to make menu items platform specific (iOS-only, Android-only, or both) I'll be adding more features in the future as well.
