what is the best way to host pictures on your app?

I am currently using the "thumbnail viewer" plugin and users complain that it takes too long to load or thumb thru the pics... does anyone have a better way to incorporate a way for users to look thru pics and possibly upload them themselves?

Here are a couple of options: You could load Flikr, create an HTML doc with the images in it, or use Photo Swipe (this looks to be the best solution) Here is a cool solution: http://www.photoswipe.com/ You may be able to put the PhotoSwipe within the app, and it would load instantly. Jake

Hi, The loading speed also depend on the speed of the server where the images are loaded from. Another thing is the amount of pictures you try to load. If you use Dropbox for example: images load slow and if you have lots of downloads dropbox may suspend your account. If you have the latest version of The ThumbViewer Plugin there is an option to start the images in thumbnailmode or in fullscreenmode. Try to set it to fullscreen mode and see how that goes. In the latest version you can also auto load images from Flickr using the dataURL. Hope this helps. Best Regards, Danny

Hi teamcaz, You can find it in "Thumb Viewer Album Properties (required!)" See: "Should the album start in thumbnail view or in full photo view (default = thumbnailview)" Hope this helps. Best regards, Danny

Hi teamcaz, No exactly as I told (the place where you decide if you have local images or external images. I'm assuming that you're selfhosted. Maybe something went wrong with the update. But you can have a look at your buzztouch controlpanel (on buzztouch.com) and create a thumbviewer screen. There you should see how this look. For further clarification see this image: http://tinypic.com/r/2qbw1sw/5 Best Regards, Danny

Hi Pancho, Maybe some additional info. Create the dataURL like this http://api.flickr.com/services/rest/?method=flickr.photosets.getPhotos&api_key=1234&photoset_id=72157630066772041&format=json As you can see I read a photoset with this url. The photoset has an id (72157630066772041). Also replace 1234 with your own api key. Hope this helps. Best Regards, Danny
