E-Commerce, Custom Design

Hi All, do you know how difficult/ tricky it would be to add an e-commerce solution to an app? Are there any restrictions/limitations to graphical design & layout in developing an app? How would we go about adding code developed outside of the application? Does it need to be in a certain language? I believe when downloaded from buzz touch, the apps are coded in Objective-C for IOS and Java for Android - Is this correct? Can we add any custom Java or Objective-C coding developed outside buzz touch? How would this be done? Are there any limitations? Thanks all!!

The awesome thing about BT apps is that the code is completely open to you to expand on. You can make any modifications to it you want, and extend it in any way that you are capable of doing. Using BT will save some serious development time, but also give you great flexibility and freedom! You will need to know some Objective-C and Java, as you indicated, if you want to extend the core features of your BT app. Mark

I would suggest to use BT for the native app, but link your eCommerce system to a URL (see custom URL screens in the help section). This way you can create a mobile website using either jQuery Mobile or Phone Gap and create your shopping cart that way. It would be simple yet professional looking. It's essentially like having a web developer create a mobile website for you, or you do it your self. I find this way works best with a lot of my apps. Feel free to Google any of the words to get more information on them, ie. Phone Gap, jQuery Mobile.

Or use and e-commerce site that you link to from your app (I believe plesk panel 10.0 has the tools built in).

Hi guys; I read this article re: Apple and their new regulations for E-Commerce. http://news.yahoo.com/publishers-remove-e-commerce-apple-apps-181348269.html However, I would assume this would only be relevant if you are using Apples In-App purchasing features and not linking to a URL with a mobile website where you can facilitate orders. However, would Apple view this as a way to side-track giving them a cut and therefore be less likely to approve your App? I am trying to figure out the best way to facilitate ordering and payment for menu items i.e. for a local takeaway. Thank you guys so much!

Apple wants 30% of digital content (ebooks, apps, eContent), doesn't apply to non-digital content such as books, clothing, food, services such as legal, plumbing, cooking, cleaning).
