The /temp directory. Is it useless?

Hi guys, I just want to question something. What use is the /temp directory after the files have been downloaded and stored somewhere else? I know it holds the plugins files and app icons before they are located to other directories, but once this is done, is there much need in keeping the files? I regularly clear the directory to save space on the server, but will there ever be a time when I regret cleaning it? Just what to know, really. I go under the opinion that it isn't important and it should be cleared, but I just want some clarification. Thanks all,

temp is only temporary. There is no critical files kept there, only things needed for a little while until a process is finished. Bottom Line: nothing inside will you regret deleting. and if you do, just redo the process that created the temp file in the first place and it will be created. I wouldn't use the term 'useless'… I'd probably say something like 'used intermittantly'. Cheers! -- Smug
