Cannot Upload Plugins to Self Hosted V3

Hi, I am trying to upload plugins for the first time to my newly installed self hosted Buzztouch V3 panel. The plugins say that they are uploading when I try to add them via "Download Plugins from your buzztouch.com Control Panel" but nothing happens even if I leave them ages. I validated my server settings in the "buzztouch.com API Key and Secret" area of my self hosted panel. I have also tried uploading the .zip files in "Upload Plugin Package" but I get an error message "This plugin package is invalid... supportedDevices not found" So I looked around the forum and found some guidance and I tried changing the name of a plugin. I then got the error "Error Un-Zipping Archive? (1) This error is sometimes caused by the type of software that was used to create the .zip archive, it could not be opened." I'm with Hostgator. What d I do to fix this issue, please? John

Sounds like you have at least a couple issues going on here. "supportedDevices not found" - this is an indication that the plugin you're trying to upload hasn't been updated for 3.0. Contact the developer and ask if they have an updated version "Error Un-Zipping Archive" - this is usually related to the program used to zip up the contents of the plugin. Try unzipping the package on your computer and re-zipping it up. If on a Mac, YemuZip gives pretty good results.

Hi John, What version of the self hosted server are you using? It almost sounds like you're uploading 3.0 plugins in a self hosted 2.19 setup, or vise versa. I'm on hostgator as well, with default server settings, so I don't think it's an issue with your host. Try this.... FTP into your site, and go to BT-server/files/plugins and upload the plugin folder directly to that directory. Not the zip file, but the folder you get after you unzip the plugin. After that, go to your admin panel, click on "manage plugins" and refresh your plugin list. They should show up and be usable at that point. *EDIT: Chris beat me to it ;)

Thanks, Chris. Thanks, Angry Ninja. Its's a new installation of BTv3.0.0 I've just tried FTP etc and I think it's working although I'm getting a lot of weird errors in the "Refresh Plugins" panel. I've added menuSimple and htmldoc and they appear to have worked in my test app but I have yet to download it. Really strange things going on when I refresh plugins, though. Several more plugins are showing as installed when I have not added them. I'm so grateful for your fast response. I'll keep going at it.

The self hosted server ships with several plugins installed by default. All of the plugins on the server, including these default ones, will show when you refresh your plugins, whether you use them in the project or not. What kind of errors are you getting when you refresh them?
