Location Map- display only current location

Currently the Location Map as designed has code for a single or multiple locations when determining initial zoom and display. I would like to modify the code in (BT_screen_map.m) and (BT_mapZoomLevel.m) to handle a Screen that has no map locations, and is designed to only show the users location (for starters) also without the zooming animation. If you create a new Map Location screen without any map points, and in the Control Panel select Show User Location (and just for test also Show User Location Button)- When you run the App and tap the Show User Button on this screen, this displays exactly what I am looking for when the screen would initially open. Probably really straight forward, but have not got it... Any code suggestions? Thanks!

Like an App where it has a button called "Near Me"? I would love to figure this out too. LA

There's a plugin doing something like this, but with more functionalities... Smug's Message Location... Check it out! (Moreover, it's free for members!) Developer is SmugWimp, he's doing many things around geolocalization, maybe you could ask him how to 'downgrade' the Smug's Message Location in the code?

(but sure there's a possible tweak (or future setting in the CP) in Location Map code to load the current user's location first with all the other items around! mmmmh.... that would be quite interesting!)

fusionsch- Would love to see that future setting in CP. However at this point I don't think that anyone is working on the Location Map for BT v3. That plugin currently has lots of BTv3 issues, and must be low on the list (although high on mine ;) Same goes for the MsgLoc which unless the verion 1.5 is newer than what I am running is not usable on iOS v7 BTv3 due to several bugs. ================== How does everyone else know when plugins are updated when plugin descriptions just list versions and not dates? Is there a place where you can see the date the plugin was uploaded to BT?

Developers should be posting dates along with version history in the readme file. Not everyone has been great at doing that (me included until recently). As for the location plugin, I updated some things for some of the bugs, but am waiting on David to push the update through. (That plugin presents a problem with updates in that it relies on php for the geocaching, which means I can't push the updates through like other plugins - David has to do it. And he's got about 50 things on his plate at the moment. (I know because half of them came from me!) :)

Thanks for the update Chris- will watch the Plugin market for the Location Map bug fix update:) I should have realized it was a case of so much going on in the BT world at once. The LocationMap fixes will be great for my map screens with multiple locations. Fushionsch is right on where I should use Smug's MsgLoc which is being updated for the other purpose.
