Changes Don't Get Noticed in Device Simulator

So I downloaded an app into xCode and ran it. Then made some changes in (self-hosted) Buzztouch. Doesn't matter if I public or not, still no changes. (Incidentally, how do I know if I'm in Live or Design Mode anyway and how would I switch it?) When I refresh the device, I get a message "There was a problem downloading some data. Check your internet connection then try again." Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thank you.

There may be a few things at play here. 1) "Clean" your app before running it in the simulator. The "cleaning" removes any old configuration information and forces a refresh of information. 2) Make sure you update your 'BT_config.txt' file by copying a 'fresh' copy from your control panel (json/configuration data) and paste it over the file in your project. 3) Live/Design mode is a methodology that allows you to make sample changes in your app without the "live" apps being affected. Before you release your app to the App Store for approval, change your BT_config.txt file from 'Design' mode to 'Live' mode, by either replacing the entire file with a 'Live' configuration, or by changing the 'Mode' text from 'Design' to 'Live'. Let us know if this helps make anything clearer, or not. You're just missing a couple of small details; nothing to worry too much about. But it's one of those 'deal breaker' details you'll need to understand for things to work the way you think they should. Cheers! -- Smug

Hey Smug, Thanks. So I think updating the BT_confix.txt file did it. Do I have to do that every time to see the changes. Not that big of a deal I guess, but in some Buzztouch tutorial videos I saw it was very dynamic and the changes just took effect as soon as they were made and saved. Thanks again! Jon

You shouldn't 'have' to change your config between tests, however a few factors come in to play, such as downloaded plugins that aren't used, plugins used that 'were not' downloaded, plugins that rely on other plugin data, etcetera. However, despite what is said 'on paper' I've found that ensuring I had a current BT_config.txt means I hardly ever have those issues. Regardless, if you run into issues, give us a yell.
