Ok I am beginning to lose my enthusiasm for BT (although I appreciate it's free). I have followed everything posted having scanned the forum, spent the entire weekend trying to get my App to appear on the AVD. I have read the ReadMe_v1.5 notes that are included with the zipped download of my App. I think the instruction is vague. I deleted the logs (Console and Logcat) and then run again. When viewing the output in the Logcat, I see no W button to enable me to see only the buzztouch output. I can not see anything in the very long list begining with ZZ. I have also checked the actual download zipped file of my App from BT (downloaded it several times) and with in all of the files, I see no reference to my project (either project name or custom icons) so I am not convinced that everything needed is in the zipped download.... which is why I think I am getting the INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY error. I will happily send someone my Logcat output to review or post it here but in the meantime can someone tell me if in the zipped download of my App should there be anything in the Jar folder cos mine is empty? Can

Did you use a map screen in your app?

Hi Fred, thanks for your kind offer to take a look at my source code, I will send it to you later when I finish my day job :).... With regard to your map screen question - thats a big NO (I double checked this as I read about this in Google - which is why I asked if their are missing library files in the source code). All I have at the moment is a very basic APp ....a custom ICON, My Home Screen and then 6 screens linked to My Home Screen. Two of the screens are Menu-List screens and the other four are Customer HTML - Text screens (all 6 of them are empty at this time)..... I sinply created a basic view to get the AVD working. >>> I have not told you the naming convention for a reason .... when I send you the source code later, I am guessing that if the source code is ok, then you should be able to play back to me what the My Home Screen should look like (and confirm names of 6 rows plus the name of my Custom App Icon)

http://db.tt/jkfhpouL Download this Source Code & Try creating a project. If you're unable to Run the Project and/or Export the Project your Eclipse Setup is not complete. It's a BTv1.5 App, In Eclipse use Google 2.2 Api 8. (Don't use Android 2.2, it's not the same as Google.)

Ok will try when I get home. I have already checked settings within Eclipse to make sure I am using Google API 2.2 and not Android API 2.2, I am definitely correctly set up

If so, do you know where I can increase timeout value?

Email me if you like. See my name for email address. Email is easier, but eventually you should post your solution for others to see. Fred

Have you installed a SD card to the emulator, if not add one. Seems to solve problems. I add a 2 gig card. GoNorthwest recommends a much more modest one of 20 MB. I'm not sure it matters. Also modify the manifest of your app to allow install to SDk Card. http://wp.me/p1ZRa7-8I

I did have allow install to SDk Card in Manifest but removed it cos ot was not making any difference - let me add it back in and increase SD card to 2 gig (had it set to 200 mb base on stuff i'd read)

Oh by the way someone needs to amend the text in the http://wp.me/p1ZRa7-8I document as there is a subtle typo You’ll see the following: package=“com.hellofred” android:versionCode=“1″ android:versionName=“1.0″> Add the following: android:installLocation=”preferExternal” End Result: package=“com.hellofred” android:versionCode=“1″ android:versionName=“1.0″ andriod:installLocation=“preferExternal”> IN THE LAST SENTENCE THE WORD ANDROID IS INCORRECT (ANDRIOD) SO IF SOMEONE COPIES THIS LAST LINE INSTEAD, THE CODE WONT WORK!!!

I have increase SD card to 2 gig and modified the manifest to allow install to SDk Card (I had removed it). It seems to be running quicker looking at logcat. Its only taken 9 minutes to get to message below... 01-23 23:21:00.034: D/SntpClient(59): request time failed: java.net.SocketException: Address family not supported by protocol but still not showing an error in console [2012-01-23 23:09:39 - ProfitnDrive] ------------------------------ [2012-01-23 23:09:39 - ProfitnDrive] Android Launch! Try exporting the APK. Not obligatory, but it helps identity problems.

Fred I think there is some kind of timeout going on here, looking at logcat it just keeps showing same message every 5 minutes 01-23 23:16:00.035: D/SntpClient(59): request time failed: java.net.SocketException: Address family not supported by protocol 01-23 23:21:00.034: D/SntpClient(59): request time failed: java.net.SocketException: Address family not supported by protocol 01-23 23:26:00.045: D/SntpClient(59): request time failed: java.net.SocketException: Address family not supported by protocol 01-23 23:31:00.044: D/SntpClient(59): request time failed: java.net.SocketException: Address family not supported by protocol Any ideas?

Ha.. man if I make millions I sure will :) but I have a long way to go ..... sure there will be plenty more questions, but for a nubie with no programming knowledge (just a bit of basic VBA) I am fairly chuffed :) Thanks again
