Hi, If this is for an iOS app, you absolutely should have Default.png (and others) in your BT_Images folder. If you don't, then something is amiss. Here is a list of image sizes that I use for my development. Instead of actually creating a splash screen, I substitute the Default.png image with the splash screen I want people to see. Works perfectly! Default.png 320x480 [email protected] 640x960 Default-Landscape.png 1024x748 Default-Landscape~ipad.png 1024x748 Default-LandscapeLeft.png 1024x748 Default-LandscapeRight.png 1024x748 Default-Portrait.png 768x1004 Default-Portrait~ipad.png 768x1004 Default-PortraitUpsideDown.png 768x1004 Icon_57.png 57x57 Icon_72.png 72x72 Icon_114.png 114x114 quizBg_large.png 748x350 quizBg_small.png 300x150 Common Screen Dimensions iPhone / iPod Touch: 320 x 480 iPad: 768 x 1024 Motorola Droid: 320 x 480 HTC Desire: 320 x 480 iTunes Connect Images : 72ppi, RGB, flattened, no transparency High quality jpg, tiff or png Do NOT include iPhone status bar iPhone screenshots 640x920 (iPhone w/Retina) iPad screenshots 768x1004 icon.png 57x57 [email protected] 114x114 icon-72.png 72x72 iTunesArtwork.png 512x512 Mark

I am only making a Android app at the moment, so i assume i will need to make the files listed below (icons and backgrounds) with those names and sizes for it work across various devices? BACKGROUND: Default.png 320x480 [email protected] 640x960 Default-Landscape.png 1024x748 Default-Landscape~ipad.png 1024x748 Default-LandscapeLeft.png 1024x748 Default-LandscapeRight.png 1024x748 Default-Portrait.png 768x1004 Default-Portrait~ipad.png 768x1004 Default-PortraitUpsideDown.png 768x1004 ICONS: Icon_57.png 57x57 Icon_72.png 72x72 Icon_114.png 114x114

GoNorthWest, Just to clarify as this has been a real pain in the *&#$ to get right for me for some reason... All you have done is replace the Default screens with images of the appropriate size and they effectively become a splash screen? What about Android? I have gotten splash to work right, it just seems more complicated than it needs to be. A simpler way would be great! Thanks, Tim

Hi, I honestly can't say I know what to do for Android, as I have not fully developed an app for it yet, and have not dealt with the splash screen there. Sorry! For iOS, however, yes, all you need to do is replace the Default*.png files with whatever you want (same image for all of them, but at different resolutions and orientations). The very first thing that an iOS app launches is the Default*.png file, so it effectively acts as a splash screen. Apple says it should be a snapshot of what the app will look like, so that people think it's loading, but I can't think of a single app out there that uses the Default*.png files in such as well. So...forget about the splash screen option in Buzztouch (no offense to BT!), and give replacing Default*.png a try. Remember they have to be png files, and they have to have the Default*.png filename. You'll need to remove the current ones from your project, and add the new ones. Here's a document that shows you how to do that: http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/Adding_Files_To_A_Project_v1.0.pdf Let me know how it goes! Mark

Ok, thanks. The thing that gets complicated is when you have Android and iOS apps, eclipse won't let you use capital letters or a - even. I got it to work by including the splash screens in the images folder, using names eclipse likes and setting the splash screen BT screen to load those files. So in iOS it loads the screen set in Xcode (Default) then the screen set as the splash screen, but the images are the same so you can't tell it happened. The only dumb thing seems to be that the iOS package now has the images twice, with different names. I suppose I could edit the config... Aww, hell. Still testing. I guess I'll get to cleaning soon enough.
