iOS 7 Has New Image Sizes for Launch Screens and Icons

Hi All, Check this out, we have to update our default.pngs and app icons. Icon: iOS 7 iPhone Retina 120*120 The default.png have the same resolution, but we can supply a different one for iOS 7 (I think it is because of the drastic design overhaul) Jake

It looks to me like the design department over at Apple is on strike... Cheers! -- Smug

@SmugWimp. LOL. I agree. I'm not so sure that the new "look" is that great in some cases, e.g. the Photos and GameCenter icons could easily be confused by new iOS users :-) But, it looks like they are finally getting rid of the semi-circular shine on the top part of the icons :-)

The icons will probably change. Remember Launchpad in beta, it looked like dashboard, now it is a rocket. Or FaceTime on the iPod touch, originally green, then they changed it to be gray. Jake

@BuzzingSteve Definitely not a fan of that shine effect. I gets used in places where it doesn't make any sense to use it.

@Jake, I hope you're right! LOL. Last thing we need is confused users :-) @NadTheVlad. Yeah, the shine really irks me (wow, got to use that word!)...you spend all that time creating a nice looking app icon, and Apple feels they need to clean your as...uh, I mean, app...for you :-) That's one positive at least in the new design...we'll see how the final version looks, I'm sure we'll all like it in the end :-)

On the bright side, you don't have to worry about turning off the glossy icons anymore :)

Will there be an update to buzz touch for all the sizes Or is there a list somewhere of all the sizes you need and filenames required?

I'm sure it'll be updated with the new BT Core... when that happens. Until then, here is a guide you can reference for the image/icon requirements... https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/userexperience/conceptual/mobilehig/IconMatrix.html Cheers! -- Smug
