Tabbed Layout: Zen and the art of Tab.

"Bottom Menu Bar" (Tabbed Menu) That's precisely the problem. You're mixing up the concepts and the terminology. The Tabbed layout is not a bottom menu bar. The Tabbed layout is merely adding a Tab to the home screens. It is not available for other screens, and it only is added to the home screens when you open the app. Create a tabbed layout with two tabs. Tab one: menu (simple) Nickname: MyHomeScreen#1 Tab two: use any screen Nickname: MyHomeScreen#2 Open app and you'll see the tabs. Opens showing the menu screen. Correct? OK, so far, so good. OK, now add a menu item (item#1) to the Menu (Simple), doesn't matter which screen you use, but let's use a Custom URL Screen, Nickname: Screen#3 Close app, reopen, refresh app's data. Now when you select item#1 from the menu, it opens Screen#3, no tabs correct? OK, now add a right Nav Bar to the screen#3 and select MyHomeScreen#1 to load. Close app, reopen, refresh app's data. Select item#1, Screen#3 loads, select the Right Nav Bar button, MyHomeScreen#1 loads Now, do you see tabs? No you don't. Why, because the Tab is not part of the screen. Hit the back button and you'll cycle back till you get to the original activity (opening of app showing the home screen) and now the Tab is showing. Fred Set Tabs in Layout / Tabs in the Control Panel Options: Non-Tab layout - One Home screen Tabbed layout - Up to five Home screens

But it Works with an "Workaround".... Goes like this: On the "Custom Screen" what is Loading from the "Menu Simple" i activated in the "Top Navigation Bar" the "Right Button Type" with the Name "Home" and linked it to my App-Loading-Splashschreen..... When the Appuser taps on the "Homeicon" in the Right Up Corner the Apps Loads the Startupsplashscreen with the First Site of the App AND the Bottom Menue... Now it Works! Maybe it helps someone with the same Problem!

Is it possible to get the tabs to "stick" farther into the navigation? Meaning, MyHomeScreen#1 shows the main page and the tabs below. I click on a tab which loads MyHomeScreen#2, a simple menu. The tabs are still there. When I click on the menu to go to MyHomeScreen#3, the tabs go away. I understand that this is what Fred is saying above. But what if I want the tabbed layout to persist throughout the app?

*** When I click on the menu to go to MyHomeScreen#3, the tabs go away. No the tab won't go away. *** But what if I want the tabbed layout to persist throughout the app? Tabs are only for choosing home screens from the initial opening of the app. They will not persist throughout the app. You want tabs, use the HTML Screen and use jQuery Mobile. Fred

Thanks. I don't know anything about jQuery Mobile, but will certainly take a look!
