Problem with API secret

I have just upgraded my self host to Version 2.1.8. If I click the "validate" Button in the Server Settings I got an Error called "Failed! The key / secret / URL you entered could not be validated" API Key: HERE IS MY API KEY API Secret: ******** API URL: https://www.buzztouch.com/api The API Key and URL matches with Server Settings and Buzztouch Account. If I click on "modify" at Self Hosted Server Details. I got "Key Updated" only. Where can I get a new API secret or check my API secret? Thx for help!

Hi, you gotta follow the self hosted instructions and edit the API info in the php file. Miguel

You can only edit the API info in the config file. To verify your API info check your self hosted info in your BT profile page. Miguel

Hi @Apostel, If I remember correctly your secret key was given to you when you first installed your self host to Version (I think they call it "reset secret") They do say to make note of it so you must have written it somewhere. You can probably reset it from your control panel, isn't there an option? THanks, Farcat

Hi Guys, I think @ farcat is on the right track. I had the same problem when I upgraded to 2.1.8 (2.1.7 was working perfectly with the API!) All you need to do is modify/edit your secret key and then paste that value into your config file on your self hosted server. Not sure why the old secret key didn't work on the upgrade, but Stephen and David @buzztouch suggested I try it and it certainly solved my problem! Hope it works for you. Cheers Darrel

I installed the old Version 2.1.7 and the API works perfect! Then I installed the Update and the API isnt working... I copy & Paste the API settings from PHPMyAdmin to the new DB and it isnt working too. Waiting for reply from the BT gang

I had the same problem and then I saw that my api key was too long and it wasn't inside the text as I had written it… the last characters were missing

I can't find the secret api either. Why don't you tell us all where to find it? Or is that the meaning of secret?
