Advantage of learning swift programming

I have been thinking of ios development course in Cestar College of Business, Health and Technology, Toronto. From their website, I came to know about swift programming http://www.cestarcollege.com/courses/technology/swift-programming/ . How about learning this course along with ios development? How does it help in ios development?

Well, 'swift' seems like it's the logical replacement for objective C, the native language for 'old school' iOS apps. Not today, and not tomorrow, but eventually. so it can't hurt to learn it. So, to 'program' for a device, a desktop OS, etc... you use a programming 'language'. Swift is such a language, meant primarily for iOS devices (iphone, iPad, apple TV, apple watch, etc...). If you want to program for other devices (Android, Windows Desktops, etc...) You'll need a different (although similar) language and 'IDE' (Integrated Development Environment... eg Xcode, Android Studio, Visual Studio, etc...) And again, even if you never touch a line of code, familiarizing yourself with the environment that you plan to build apps with can't be a waste of time. Hope this helps. Cheers! -- Smug

Swift is actually a little better and faster to code with than objective c. Maybe alot better. But alot of the syntax is sort of the same. Still its good to learn the language.
