Hello, I'm going to be spending some time in hotels next week, and would like to take some time and whip up some Android/Android Studio related video tutorials. My first priority is to update the one I have on how to work with Buzztouch projects in Android Studio. Aside from that topic...any other topics you'd like to see covered (non-coding related)? Well, since you ask... ;) I'm 'just about' to start my switch from Eclipse to Android Studio, and I'm not really looking forward to it. This is because I'm familiar with Eclipse, and Android Studio is... Alien to me. I'd love to see a 'this is what you did in eclipse, this is how you do it in Android Studio' kind of tutorial or indoctrination... Thanks Mark - sounds great. I haven't migrated to Studio yet, so I'm sure your video tutorials will be invaluable as usual. My main question would be about creating apk files and using keystores/keys etc. Can we use an existing keystore/key or is a new one required?

There are apps in Google Play that are greater than 50MB e.g. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aardman.shauninthecity&hl=en_GB which is 99MB It goes without saying to minimise your file sizes before submission. I use https://tinypng.com/ for reducing image sizes. Similar sites out there for audio and video.

I just recently made the switch which hasn't been easy. It's been a steep learning curve for me and the idea of the Build Gradle is completely foreign to me as well. So far though I have been able to create signed APK's for new and old apps through Android Studio from Self Hosted. GoNorthWest videos helped me get started which was invaluable. I am having an issue with the bt_screen_Quiz plugin when I try to export the APK. So fixing that Error in Android Studio would be my request for a video.

I'll look into that. Hopefully David Book, who owns that plugin, will see this and take a look as well. Thanks! Mark

Hi northwest, first I would like to thank you for all the help and work you have put into BT. Without your video and documents, I would not be able to get some things sorted. Would you be into doing something similar like the BTU, but updated.. I found them really good to learn the ways around eclipse. but now we have android studio, some things are new and some are old. can get a little confusing. BTU was a fantastic way to learn. shame it never got finished.. cheers Dave

Well, the week has slipped by and I'm no closer to making a video that I was when I started this post! Work got the best of me this week...sorry about that! This stuff is still in the forefront of my mind, and I promise I'll get some out soon! Mark
