There was a problem downloading some required data. Try again? message now appearing on all previously functional apps.

We have may apps published on both android and ios. Apps that were fully functional are now showing this message when downloaded from the app store: "There was a problem downloading some required data. Try again?" These are hosted on a self-hosted panel and we have never had these problems. These are not hobby apps, they are for clients. Please advise.

A second note, I had installed the BT4.0.1 updates per David's post (here: <a href="http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?fid=AF5F28224177488CCF33987&tid=AF5F28224177488CCF33987" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?fid=AF5F28224177488CCF33987&tid=AF5F28224177488CCF33987</a>). I have now reinstalled the old AJAX and index files in the hopes that it would reverse this issue, but the error message is still appearing.

I have this problem from time to time with my apps (self-hosted too). I suppose it's a transient connection problem with my connection (sometimes not so good) or with the connection of my server (always 100% available). Did you check your server? It doesn't last long... After a few minutes it's ok, but sure it's a problem when it's a client app. In an app I just sent for validation, I've made some kind of "psychological workaround"... I've modified the related line in Localizable.strings: "appDownloadErrorTryAgain" = "There is a transient problem. Try again? (or retry later)"; Cheers Jack

Hi, Jack. I appreciate the feedback. However, this appears to be an issue with only our self-hosted apps, and the error has now been showing for about 14 hours. Our servers are working normally. Any other suggestions?

Hi, @FunkyMonkey. Based on our experience I suspect this is a BT error because everything else checks out as far as our servers, etc. Are you on self-hosted as well? This seems to be happening only on our self-hosted apps.

@devapps123: I'm happy to get a look at your self hosted install if I can gain access. If you email me a control panel login, and an FTP login I'll see what I can find. david at buzztouch.com @FunkyMonkey: What app is this in your control panel? Email me the app name rather than posting in this public forum. I'll see what may be happening. If it's a BT backend thing it should be easy to find / fix? david at buzztouch.com
