Password Issues

So, I was configuring development/production push PEM certificates in the control panel for a specific app and I created new passwords for each and updated them both. I got "upload successful" before I went to lunch. Before leaving, I logged out of my self hosted control panel and low and behold, my sign in password into my control panel changed and I cannot log in. I initiated a "forgot password" prompt and nothing has come through in my inbox or in junk?? I looked in my password list in Safari preferences and I saw the password had changed there too! So I tried to use that one, which happened to be the one I assigned to my production push PEM, and it did not let me into my control panel. Anyone know what the issue might be?

Have you tried going to your self hosted files> config.php and see what the password is there? Dave

@calypso kid - the only password that is stored in that file is your Buzztouch account, not self hosted server.

Sorry, I thought you meant your BT control panel. Who is your host provider? Try contacting them.

I'm just thinking, so nothing is proven or tested... 1) Back up your BT Database. No kidding; this could screw you up royally if it's not successful. 2) Via phpMyAdmin or other tool, open your BT Database. 3) Navigate and display the table 'BT_users' 4) Find your admin account. Locate the field 'loginPassword' and delete the contents; make it blank. (don't delete the 'field', just the contents of YOUR loginPassword field) 5) Sign in with your login name, no password. 6) Hope for the best. Hope this helps. It's worked on other types of installations. Hopefully it works for this too. Cheers! -- Smug

I guess that didn't work for you; sorry. Danny Kessels is the accepted 'cheese' of Self Hosting. Still having password issues? Have you done a backup, and tried a reinstall of the package? Cheers! -- Smug
