new problems with html files in ios app

Today has been a big day for me... I uploaded iTunes AND updated my iPhone to ios 5.0. I opened up one of my apps which I installed locally on my device (ERres) which looked all screwy. I deleted the app and went to reinstall it with xcode only to find out that I only had Xcode 4.0 which didn't support ios 5.0 hence I am currently downloaded the 1.6 gb file which is xcode 4.2. Moving on, I tried opening up my app in the iphone simulator at ios 4.2 just to make sure it looked okay and for whatever reason NONE of my html files which are stored locally in the app will open. This is what it says in xcode: 2011-10-19 22:53:23.811 erres[2790:207] BT_fileManager: File does not exist in Xcode bundle: file_6C3FD5485DC4A62E768E5A9.html 2011-10-19 22:53:23.812 erres[2790:207] BT_fileManager: File does not exist in cached directory: file_6C3FD5485DC4A62E768E5A9.html Any thoughts? Did something change with the latest project? I'm going to let xcode 4.2 install overnight (43 min left) then hopefully everything will work fine?? Josh

So I'm still awake (jet lagged) and have since installed the new xcode 4.2 and installed my app on my iphone 4 (running 5.0) and am having the same problem... no html screens are loading. Image galleries work fine as do custom url's but any html file I have within the app will not load. I also noticed a change with the iAd banner at the bottom. When I click on an icon or menu item that will load a new menu (with iad at the bottom) the banner where the ad will appear turns white (my app background is blue) then fades away. Interesting. I have noticed the same issue yesterday (PDF files stored locally don't work either). The problem is actually coming form the BT_screen_webView.m file. As I still had the previous version of the file on my computer, I used it instead of the new one and everything worked fine (quick solution, I didn't have time to go through the code to find what was wrong). So if you're lucky enough, and you still have the previous version of the file, just use this one. Otherwise, it shouldn't take too long before the guys at Buzztouch re-update everything :)

It just so happens I did have the old version of that file in my trash and you're right... I can now open all my files. The white banner at the bottom of my screen where the iAd banner will load is still there. AND, if I download my official app from iTunes onto my phone the same thing happens (which it never used to). Here is a photo showing what I am talking about: http://erresapp.com/files/photo.PNG Any ideas?

Ok guys we had a look see and made some changes to the BT_screen_webView.m file. Try re-downloading your projects and see if that fixes the issue. Let us know if the issue persists.

Having the same problem right now, worked for it for days now to no avail. Embedded PDF and word just won't display in my phone...trying to open either would result to open with...(displays 2 SMS apps) - with andorid 1.5. No similar issue with that in my other app in Android 1.4. Properly imported the word & pdf files in Eclipse Control Panel, had the project cleaned & rebuilt, changed the docs behavior to Do not open with native app... selected in the BT Control panel, tried just about everything. Please help... Thanks Parker, David & company. Indeed yes, even using the embedded sample docs...it displayed the same open with which app (display 2 SMS appa prompt, unlike in the Android 1.4 where I never had that issue in my several trial apps.

Hi IntoTheLight, Screens for v1.5 Android projects are still waiting for the phase 2 release to be working properly. This scheduled release is currently on hold while we work on the buzztouch Server 2.0 release scheduled for tonight just around 11:59pm PST. We feel that by releasing the buzztouch Server project before the phase 2 release of v1.5 Android, we will be actually make things go easier and faster for everyone in the long run. Sorry for the delay but we hope you'll understand that we are a very small team and we have your long term best interests in mind. If you have a look at the README_1.5.txt file in your project download folder you see some more information on the Android project release. You can also see: http://www.buzztouch.com/roadmap/ for more info on buzztouch Server 2.0

I'm actually having this same problem now with a PDF screen in the iOS 5 simulator in xCode. I do not have an older file from the BT_screen_webView.m file as I just made this project recently. Is there some sort of solution now for the iOS problem or am I simply doing something wrong? Thanks

Hi TOBrien, The issue should be fixed for iOS devices. What exactly is the problem you're experiencing? Please give as much detail about the steps you've taken, and what isn't working.

I'm very new to this. My biggest frustration right now is that when I put a pdf file in the BT docs file, I get an error Data for this screen has not been downloaded. If I use the sample.pdf, it works. I have started over a few times on the project but nothing works. I am using BT 1.5 and xcode 4.2 (snow leopard). I do appreciate all of the work you all have put into this. Any help would be appreciated. Dale

Patrick, It sounds like you didn't add your pdf file to x-code. The project comes with sample.pdf in the docs folder so that works. When you add a new file you need to do TWO things: 1. add the file to the BT_Docs folder (or BT_images, BT_video, etc) 2. THEN, open your project in xcode. You will see the BT_Docs folder, and others, shown on the left. Expand the BT_Docs folder. I'm guesing your new pdf file isn't there. Drag your pdf file into xcode into the BT_Docs folder. So now you have put a new file in your folder AND told xcode the file is there. Now, in xcode go to product and clean. Then run your app in the simulator or device. Let me know if this doesn't work. Good luck! Josh
