IOS Splash Screen

I'm getting down to the small detail with an app I'm building and I've been trying to get the splash screen right. I had noticed some kind of visual glitch, and I've just workied it out. On my BT 3.0 app, using splash, the main page loads and displays for a split second, then the splash screen loads, then transitions (using curl) to the main page. Something wrong with the order of things there!. If I can't fix it, I might have to ditch the splash, but I'd rather not.

Why don't you use the the new URL splash screen? Or do you prefer the splash to be embedded into the project? I tend to use the Animated Splash which is awesome if you have the patients.

I'd be happy enough with the way the standard splash works, if it didn't do the glitch. Personally, I think its a bug. The animated splash looks cool, but I don't have the graphics skill or the patience, lol.

Hi Alan, what you can try is change the background color to white (or any other color you desire) for the plugin. I believe the default might be clear. This is what I did for one of my apps and works well. Hope that helps!

Let me know if you find the location of the 1-sec white screen with animated progress circle. I want to get rid of that critter!

Thanks @bizappsmedia, but it doesn't work. You get a flash of the background colour, and you still get a flash of the home screen and then the splash transition. Niraj, the effect you see is after the launch image and before the splash or home screen. It's damn annoying, because it defeats the purpose of customized launch images.

I've been having the same problem - so I hunted around, and the iPhone 5 has different screen resolutions than what I'd been using on the BT 2.0 recommendations for the splash screens. I'll be testing this theory tomorrow, but what I've discovered is the following: We had previously been told to use 320 X 480 image for iPhone, and 768 X 1024 for iPad. New recommendations for iPhone 5 are 640 X 1136, and for Retina iPad, 1536 X 2048. Anyone else game to try?!?!

Hi @mooncelt, I use 320x568 for small screens and 640x1136 for large in my splash images. I haven't had any luck with my original problem yet, it feels like one of those little BT 3.0 things that could easily be ironed out if only I knew where to look! If anyone has any idea's, I'm all ears!
