I updated to Yosemite, and updated to the latest Xcode, and all is well. No bad effects. Eclipse and Android Studio also work just fine. Mark

A fair number of pro developers are having to reboot their Yosemite machines daily or more often. I have stayed away from it for the initial release. Unless forced to update because of Xcode compatibility, I will stay on Mavericks for my older Macbook. Apple just released an update to Yosemite today! -- Niraj

"Pro developers" might be the key statement there. I'm sure they do stuff most of us don't. I can go a long time before I feel like I need to reboot. It's been super stable for me. Mark

I upgraded to Yosemite. I do a lot of non-app related coding (so can't comment much on XCode et al) but I hate how the path of a file is now specified with "Get Info" in Finder. Gone is the handy directory path\file notation... it's been replaced with directory path -> file.

No issues with Yosimite here at all... Upgraded the first day of public release (with a full time machine backup of Mavericks of course)... Xcode and everything else works perfectly. My whole setup is geared towards app development and graphic design... Not a single hiccup. Have submitted several apps to the App Store with my Yosimite setup, no issues at all.

Biggest issue I've seen is the boot time almost doubled for me.
