Legal link on BT_screen_map?

Hi all, Couldn't find this asked elsewhere so I hope I'm not duplicating another post... There's a "Legal" link on BT_screen_map in the bottom map toolbar (the one with the icons in it) - it doesn't link to anything when my app runs on the iOS simulator, but it looks like it should (it's underlined so it looks like a clickable link). Is this something that will 'just work' when it's live, or is it something I have to configure link to a legal file somewhere else? Cheers Paddy.

Can you show a screen shot? I don't recall ever seeing anything like that… I've seen Google place a 'watermark' on their maps of course… but nothing on a tool bar anywhere… Cheers! -- Smug

Here you go Smug: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/43652415/Screen%20Shot%202014-04-16%20at%201.22.02%20pm.png - it's down at the bottom left, just above the tab bar. EDIT: Reveal is telling me it's being put there by the MKAttributionLabel class... Cheers Paddy

Hey, this is starting to look nice! I'm wondering if it's not something Google cooked up. Or Apple. Whoever 'sources' the maps. They usually want attribution 'on' the map somewhere... 'Reveal' is kinda slick, isn't it? :) Cheers! -- Smug

Thanks Smug! Makes sense... and closer inspection shows that it's part of the map view, not the toolbar element - you were right. So if Google/Apple/whoever has put it there, I'll let them deal with the links or lack thereof I think! And I'm loving Reveal - it makes it so easy to track stuff like this back to the source. Already saved myself around 17 hours this morning finding where to get rid of the thin line on top of the tab bar - it took me about 10mins to find and make the mod. Awesome tool, thanks again for the pointer! (btw, who *does* provide the maps that BT uses?) Cheers Paddy

Well, "You" do. If you haven't made a choice and you're on iOS, you're using Apple Maps by default. On Android, Google is the default Map. Apple and Google have their own map content, and you as a developer 'typically' decide which you want to use. I'm about 2/3 of the way finished with an offline map plugin for iOS and Android. 'Those' have a variety of sources, although I recommend 'Open Street Map'… But there are many. In my upcoming offline Map plugin, the behaviour will mimic the current 'BT_screen_map' plugin, the only exception is offline maps. Cheers! -- Smug

Nice progress, Paddy! Remember to write a post on how you changed the Left button. Austin? All the way from down under?

Paddy- Your may screen is looking great. For my first release my app is for events only in my state, but when it expands to national level- your search will be on the top of my list!
