Need some help with the Image-output PHP script, Also could use example of uploading images to flickr if that possible using buzztouch...

I am working on setting up photo sharing for an App im building and the upload portion is working very well. However the script image-output.php gives the following error ( downloaded this scrtipt from the buzztouch site. Begin error message--- Warning: Unexpected character in input: '\' (ASCII=92) state=1 in /images/Argentina/image-output.php on line 45 Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /images/Argentina/image-output.php on line 45 ---- Actually I would prefer to host the images on flicker but there appear to be no way to upload to flicker?? only display? is that correct? if someone has an example of how they uploaded images to flickr that would be awesome i've tried some minor tweaks but no luck thanks for your help -Matthew

Actually figured thsi out turns out there is an older scrip still linked ion the site, its called sample-image-output.php That script does not work but the one titled sample-image.upload doe both uploading and also feeds the photo gallery. One thing i am concerned about now is whether there would be legal liability fo if i allow people to upload photos to a server I host, could possibly get some sickos using my app for uploading porn or copyright stuff...Am re-considering including that feature in the App at all. One possible work around might be to use flickr as then the images are hosted with them and there is I assume some public curatiuon that would result in offensive images being taken down. That said I'm kind of at a loss as to how to post images to Flicker from the upload app, can anyone give an example of: 1) the upload URL for flickr 2) the Gallery URL for flickr

For Flickr: They don't support you uploading images wihtout major coding kung-fu. However, every Flickr album has a unique email address you can use to send images to the Flckr album. This is exacly why we created the Email Image screen. facebook does the same thing. Go to the Flickr album, find it's uniqe email address. Use that address as the 'send to' address when you create the Email Image screen in your buzztouch control panel. As far as getting the images out of Flickr, it's also easy but may confuse folks with zero or limited knowledge of 'all things Flickr' I use this for some testing and it works great. It outputs JSON data and includes the image descriptions: http://api.flickr.com/services/rest/?&method=flickr.photos.search&api_key=YOUR-API-KEY-GOES-HERE&format=json&tags=boats&privacy_filter=1&content_type=1&per_page=50 Insert your Flickr API key (free form Flickr) and use that as a dataURL in an image gallery screen. When you get it working...go back to Flickr and figure out the URL to the album you want to use. This URL is just a list of publically searchable photos tagged with 'boats'

Hi David and all - I'm having some problems with getting a Flickr gallery set up. I got as far as this from the above post and its working: Insert your Flickr API key (free form Flickr) and use that as a dataURL in an image gallery screen. When you get it working... but am totally lost how to do this: go back to Flickr and figure out the URL to the album you want to use Here's the link to the photostream I want to have in the gallery if that helps: http://www.flickr.com/photos/burlingtonmusic/ (BTW: I'm working in version 1.5 and the app is under development)

So, the photo stream you posted (URL) is public so this is great. The idea is that Flickr requires an API key to be inserted into a URL that is requesting the data in JSON format. The URL you construct will include some information appended to the end of it like the gallery, your api_key, etc. This post has lots of good info: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=12AC6263FC09A9E177D6D32 When you get the right URL constructed you will paste it in the Data URL box in the advanced settings of the Image Gallery screen. You can paste the URL you end up with into your address bar and load it in a regular browser to make sure it's outputting JSON data like the app expects.

Works perfectly now. Thanks so much! Here's what I ended up with for a url for future readers of the this discussion: http://api.flickr.com/services/rest/?method=flickr.people.getPublicPhotos&api_key=583611bdbfc0457370c41fc34e75ebfb&user_id=60270757@N08&per_page=25&format=json
