RSS Question

I have been trying to accomplish this with an RSS feed, with no luck: When the rss feed comes up in the IOS simulator, I have my rss feed list with images. When I click on the image I would like to be shown a screen that has all of the details about that
, instead of being taken directly to a website. Then while on the second screen, I would like, when I click the image I am taking to a website. Does anyone know if this can be done? I did not know if I could accomplish with guid tag. IF you do this with guid tag, how would you do it? Below is my rss feed.

Name

My Description

Item#1

My Description#1

Item#2

My Description#2

I've never in my life seen an rss feed do what you're asking. Your app would have to be able to create screens on the fly whenever there's a new rss entry. Is it even possible?

Before I found Buzz Touch, I used a different online app maker site. The rss feed app I made there would work this way. The app would load the rss feed, I click on an image, the screen would slide showing everything within the
tag. I would then click on the image and I would be taking to the website. With my Buzz Touch rss, it loads the rss, I click on an image and I am directly taking to the website. By-passing the second screen altogether.

Wow! What was the other app maker, if you don't mind me asking?

I'd love to see more examples of users RSS feeds. I'm using a joomla created RSS and I can't get the images to work. (buzztouch 1.5)

I can see why you've both moved to buzztouch though, appmakr looks to be very, very good with rss feeds, but that appears to be about its limit.

The reason that I moved was because appmakr does not allow for push notifications, except on their website. I need to do pushes through API, like to urban airship. Appmakr will not allow this. Besides that, everything look good. I do like alot about Buzz Touch.

Hi guys..neat hearing the differences between appmakr and buzztouch ;-0 @ jeffaustin: Short answer - yes, for sure. Long answer..it may be tougher than you realize. This is one of those cases where flexibillity comes at a cost of complexity. If I were doing this, and needed a 'details' screen to load with the story-tap (AKA: Master / Details setup) I would... a) Create an XML / RSS feed with the URL the same for each time...but...append an item Id to the end of the URL. Like, mysite.com/details.php?id=3 and mysite.com/details.php?id=4 b) Create the details.php screen. This screen would pull the details from a backend database to use to pouplate the screen. Probably an image, a description, links, etc. This approach of course is dependent on a few things. One being the fact that you'll need to control the XML / RSS otuput. If you're running v1.5 you could do it a few other ways too. The concept of dynamic menus is super powerful and lots of folks are doing things like this. A dynamic list of items, each with it's own 'load screen' is tremendously poweful. Think nested menus, details, etc. If you have not yet dug through the v1.5 docs you could to see if you can pull this off.
