If this is Android, make sure you have a Facebook App created first. The strings.xml file in your Android project will need to have your Facebook App API and Key inserted so it knows which Facebook app to use when users post.

It could be that the error occured with helloiowacity.com please try again later message is something coming from Facebook - have no idea! I do know that there are hundreds of these things working. Maybe check the settings in the Facebook app? Maybe there is a new permission or something in your Facebook App's control panel to 'allow posting' from third parties?? Not sure about this without knowing more.

Is there a certain way to do what? Lets do this... what is the name of your Facebook App? If you send it, I should be able to find it in Facebook itself. In other words, if I log into Facebook with my web-browser, what should I search for?

I'm so confused - laughing. a) Create a Facebook App. Get it's API key and API Secret from it's settings page on Facebook. b) Add these values to the Eclipse project in strings.xml c) Compile your Android app and put it on your phone before compiling a Release Version for the Android Market. d) Test your Facebook Connect screen in your Android App on your phone. If it works, compile a release version for the Android Market. If it doesn't work, something is screwy ;-).

I too get this error intermittently. And we are not alone!!! http://forum.developers.facebook.net/viewtopic.php?pid=290597#p290597 http://bugs.developers.facebook.net/show_bug.cgi?id=13702 In the top link there is a workaround shown for android but I can't seem to figure out what I should change and where, maybe David or somebody else could advise? And it does seem this error is not specific to android.

I'm headed to SFO to battle the holiday crowds so you won't hear from me for a day or two. Airport on the day before thanksgiving - I must be nuts! In the meantime, you could find the mobile URL for your Facebook wall and just use that in a CustomURL screen instead of the Share on Facebook screen. This could allow your users to see your wall posts, login, etc. Lots of people think this is better anyway. I'll look into your findings (great job!) while I kill time in the airport ;-)

David, I have gone through and have redone all the steps to try to get the Facebook feature working: 1. I have my App Name, App ID, and App Secret all posted in the strings.xml in Eclipse 2. I have run the hash command using keytool -exportcert -alias mykey -keystore mykeystore.keystore | openssl sha1 -binary | openssl base64 3. I have received my MD5 hash after I put in my password ( I have done this with both debug and release keys to get both hash strings) 4. I have placed the hash strings in the Facebook App Android Hash key field 5. Facebook works correctly on the Emulator, but it does not work on my Mobile Device. I am at a loss as to what it could be that I am missing. I am curious if others have had this error happen to them and what steps they took in order for the Facebook feature to work in V1.4.

1) Do a Google search for: site:facebook.com YOUR NAME. This will produce something like... http://www.facebook.com/pages/Joe-Smith/118842275507 (your name should be in the URL, not Joe Smith) 2) Visit this page. This should be your regular Facebook URL. 3) Change it to the mobile version like: http://m.facebook.com/pages/Joe-Smith/118842275507 (again, your name) See the m in the URL in place of the www. Visit this site, I'll bet it's a mobilized version of you ;-)
