Where do I add my background images into Eclipse ?

I want to test both options for screen background images : from URL or not. From URL, it works very well. It just takes a second to load on the screen, but somehow the background picture of the first tab (5 tabs in total) doesn't always appear, or sometimes disappear, whereas it works very well on the other tabs screens. Somehow there is an unstability regarding that first tab screen background image. So I wanted to try to have them directly incorporated into the apk file, but I don't know what to do in Eclipse for them to be recognized. I suppose I have to copy those jpegs into some subfolder of the Asset folder, but which ? I have now only the folders BT_audio BT_docs BT_Video. And do I need to adjust the code ?
