Like you probably realized, there are several flavors of the Eclipse development package. If you have never done this before, you will want Eclipse Classic. You can download it from this URl: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ BEFORE YOU DO, review the information here, it is very helpful and will walk you through the steps to get an Android development environment setup on your machine. http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing.html Thousands of folks have made this work, you can too ;-) and before too long, you'll be an Android pro! Good luck

Is Eclipse classic all I need? Is there some Android plug-in needed as well?

After downloading eclipse, you'll be installing the Android Developer tools (Android sdk). Maybe do a Google search for installing the Android SDK

Does Eclipse have to be installed BEFORE the Android SDK or does the install order not matter?

Hi in OH: Catching up on old posts after being away for awhile ;-) For sure you'll want to install Eclipse first then the Android SDK. The Android SDK is tighly integreated with the Eclipse environment so you'll want to use the 'Install Software' option in Eclipse to download the available Android packages.
