I just updated the App Copier tool to now include support for the Custom Html/Text plugin. The tool will now copy the html files you create with that plugin over to your new server!

Hi I had a version of this tool from the Buzztouch mod site, how can I obtain a the newer version or do I have to buy the new released version from the market?

Just go to the app copier tool on your admin panel. It should automatically update to 2.0.

Wow Chris! I'm glad you amazingly figured out that tricky process to transfer the HTML screens... Actually... If Buzztouch hasn't already picked up on this, it would be really great if they would add this functionality natively in the new BT Central... I'd personally enjoy not having to hand-copy over my apps for each new BT update! It might be worth messaging Susan to see if she can upload a plugin package with PHP in it. (I think it can still be done). That way even regular Buzztouch users could use it! Thanks for making the process that much easier! -Cake

have this from the old mods site as well. Is this the same as Smugs Copier from back then or is it something different? If it is the same we would need the updated files as it will not magically update my "copy" folder on my own server.

This isn't Smug's tool. That's something different. Mine used to be on buzztouchmods.com too though.

FunkyMonkey, If you're referring to content such as the .png files and other files, no it does not copy them over. You have to add them to your new self hosted project. What I did before I copied my app to self hosted was to put all of my files on my server in a folder system separate from my BT control panel. That way when I copied my app over, no changes were nessasary. Also, those files are easily available for any other app if I want. Dave

LeonG - not sure what you mean. The content of the custom HTML plugin is a file.

yes I know it is a file, but the content of the file is visible in the editor inside the control panel as well. The question is, will this content be copied as well? Smugs copy tool does not do that and if yours does, I will happily invest :-)

hi chris, ive installed the plugin on my self hosting, copied the file over, updated my plugins, the plugin is showing, in my list on self hosting, but the link on the admin left panel, to the plugin is not there, what am i doing wrong :)

What steps did you do to install? You should: 1) buy the plugin 2) add it as a screen to any app 3) open control panel for that screen 4) download the linked file 5) upload that file to your self hosted server in the admin directory 6) point your browser to that file on your self-hosted server 7) delete the screen from the app as it's now pointless

yeah followed steps 1 to 6, when i put the url address in as http://www.????????????/BT-server/admin/cr_copyApp.php it opens up my self hosting with this address http://?????????????/BT-server/?timedOut=1 and i have to sign in again, the plugin is installed but no link on left hand side cheers sean

... and unfortunately a very big bug: App Copier (bought on Buzztouchmods) remains stuck on a blank page (.../admin/cr_copyApp.php) and copies only 20 screens... Can't use it at all!

I suppose I have it, as it displays 'App Copier v.2.0'... I used it on July 31, everything was ok, but today I get this strange issue...

You should be able to just pull it up on your server and it should auto-update to 2.1. If you're on an old version, you won't have auto-updates installed. But if you already had 2.0 it should.

Ok, its shows 2.1.

It shows 2.1 too on my server... but nothing changed... Blank page and only 20 screens copied... Moreover, all menus have lost their items so I can't check if the foreign language issue has been fixed... It's not a browser compatibility issue, I've checked with Safari and Firefox... Same issue... Chris, if you want to check it 'on site', it's the iParos app I'm trying to clone! Cheers Jack
