Learn jQuery in 30 Days - Free

I've done a similar 30 day tutorial (HTML/CSS) with these guys, and it was excellent. jQuery can certainly come in handy for various apps. http://learnjquery.tutsplus.com/ Mark

Thanks for the link. I'm already signed up for the ride. Also, I think the whole domain is worth taking a look. They cover more areas that I'm interested in. http://tutsplus.com/

Thanks for the link Mark, excellent resource. As a novice on programming does jquery have advantages over php or html5, is it used in a specific area that I could utilize in app development. Your guidance is appreciated as ever

Great link. I'm infatuated with JQuery right now (a little late to the party, but I'm there with bells on)

Hi Marko, Well, since jQuery and Javascript are client side, there is no need for a network connection like there is with server side PHP. The qQuery web site says the following: 'jQuery is a fast and concise JavaScript Library that simplifies HTML document traversing, event handling, animating, and Ajax interactions for rapid web development. jQuery is designed to change the way that you write JavaScript.' So, it would be good for some client side animations and Ajax interactions. I do know it's a hot technology, and primed for mobile web development. Aside from that...I think we'll both have to take the course and see! Mark

Thanks for that information Mark, I look at my new book on objective C in a less loving way. I am definitely going to take up the course now.

I jumped into Objective-C for a bit...simply to try and make apps...and abandoned it just as fast. Buzztouch is basically doing what I think Apple should be doing...providing a platform where it's easy to piece together the pieces of an app instead of forcing people to get knee deep in nasty code. I mean, seriously...do we really need to write 10 lines of code just to have a button push leading to a menu list? Crazy!

Thats it now Mark, I am casting away my copy of objective C and diving into Jquery I feel like someone who has tried to remove the buzztouch belly with the Atkins diet when instead I should have bought leg warmers and watched Jane Fonda workout video's

@Marko - Are you actually referring to a Jane Fonda video? Although, she's still pretty good looking considering she's almost 2000 years old but still... LOL O.T - Have you guys seen the other videos on Tutplus? It's good resource to refresh one´s skills. I for example sat whole evening and watched the css tutorial. A lot of things that I had forgotten about got updated. Great place. BR/Stefan

Stefan I am outraged that you imply I am a wrinkly and not keeping up with current trends. I am down with the kidz, I am just about to listen to a mos def crew on my radiogram called New Kids on the block, and have just bought a cd on a new sista called Tiffany, who has rad beats - (but maybe if she didn't sing so bad she wouldn't think shes alone now) Ps stefan you can never give me too much stick for my Jane Fonda crush, your country came up the guiltiest pleasure ever with ABBA. Everyone loves them but in a way there music is addictive in the brain like a viral infection. I believ Hanson took coaching to come up with mmmm bop.

By the way, there are a couple jquery mobile code generators which work well (so far) with BT ...Tiggzi.com and Codiqa.com. Tiggzi is more powerful and allows data saving in Parse and other restful services, but its a paid service.
