White House Monitoring New Android Apps?

Has anyone else noticed that when you post an app on the android marketplace you will always have a hit from Device: generic-google_sdk Timestamp: 12/12/11 07:12 PM (pst) Location: 38.8992 / -77.0377 Address: 717-753 Jackson Pl NW, Washington, DC 20506, USA I think it's rather odd. . . has anyone else noticed this? Just started with apps posted in the past week or so...

Just checked my apps, and none of them have a market to that address. Big Brother is watching you. lol. But it could be someone who just likes your app, or driving pass it while using it.

Just did a nearby search on google maps for 'android' and AT&T and HTC are nearby, as well as a few developers and consultants. Might be something to do with them? Don't know how accurate the co-ordinates are?

Same here; mine appeared at the White House almost as soon as I saved it (in Buzztouch, while putting it together - I hadn't even OPENED an Android Marketplace account yet). Hope you liked my app, Mr. President :-)

Hi guys, this is very interesting. Funny, scary, and all things in between. When you launch the app using the device or a simulator a pin will show your usage map if the app is setup to allow geo locations. Because simulators can be setup in so many ways, I'll be there is a way to allow location simulation that has a default location built into the simulator. I don't know this but it's the only thing I can imagine causing more than one person to have a device make a request (the geo info is sent along with the request) from the exact same location.
