That's a good question. Mac OS 10.4.11 is Tiger. I'm currently running Snow Leopard on my Mac mini. After that comes Lion (I think), and from what I hear, that's the last version of Mac OS X that will be supported on my model. My recommendation would be to upgrade to Snow Leopard on your Mac mini, and then run Xcode 4.2, which is what I have. That seems to be a good combination. Mark

The most important question is: Does your mac mini have an intel processor, or a G4?

Well, we need to be clear here. Yes, it's not an Intel in the sense of an Intel PC. But, Mac have, in the past, had Power PC (PPC) processors, but now use processors from Intel. Xcode will only run on Intel processors, so the old systems cannot be used for development. When you fire up your Mac mini at home, up on the menu bar, there's an "About" selection which will tell you. If you have PPC, you'll need to find another solution. Mark
