Size of Nav Bar icons

On the Nav bar, what size and file type should the icon be? I've used 50x50 in size and .jpg and .png (transparent background) file types and can't get them to load.

You should have 30x30 as a standard icon, and for the retina ones, use 60x60. I always do this. The files should always be in PNG format, because PNG allows transparency. Dont use JPG because it doesn't allow for transparency, so it will just look like a plain block.

If you're clever with the sizes, you can make some overlap the Tab-Bar and have the effect of sticking above into the app. Sometimes it works.

Ok .. i've tried all the above, but the app is still not showing the icons. Maybe I'm not setting the icons in the right place (i'm still new to buzztouch .. but love it). Under Layout / Tabbed Layout .. I define screen, label, and icon .. and in selecting the icon, I actually have to upload it and select it. The icons I created are 40x40 and 20x20 ... and I even tried 30x30 .. and they are .png files. When I go to the app, it shows the navbar tabs at the bottom but no icon. Any help would be much appreciated.

ohhhhhhhh. I bet you haven't added the icons to your project. Despite the fact that we 'upload' resources (documents, images, etcetera) to your BT control panel, those resources don't actually get put in your package; you still have to add them manually to your project. Make sure you 'Add' them, and not just copy them in. Check out this quickie from GoNorthWest. Make sure you add your icons (and anything else you expect to be 'included' in your binary) and you should be good to go. https://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/Adding_Files_To_A_Project_v1.0.pdf Cheers! -- Smug

@Smug .. you were exactly right .. and just moments before your posting MrDavid assisted me in showing exactly what you described (which shows you, too, know your stuff). Thanks for the post and reference (awesome 'How to' reference) from GoNorthWest . Issue resolved. Thanks everyone. -- Netsam
