Push Notifications will be the death of me....

I have a app that has been published to the itunes store. After I published it, I decided that I wanted push notifications to work on it. I went back into Buzztouch control pannel in core settings and push notificions section and obtained the certificates, and provisioning profiles needed. In development mode, push notifications work fine. I set up another provisioning profile for distribution and repeat the steps that worked for me on development side. I archived my project in xcode and submitted the new version to itunesconnect. After a few days it gets approved, but push notifications still do not work. When I go back to the Buzztouch push noticiacation pannel, it will show the device that I just used to download the app, but says it is registered as design mode. What could I be doing wrong? I repeated this process and submitted another update that was approved, but still does not work.

I feel your pain, I have been struggling with Push on iOS for a year, haven't got anywhere.

Did you make sure you manually set your BT_config.txt in Xcode to live mode before submitting?

chris1 you are a genius! I see mine still says design. I will make the change now and resubmit. Hopefully that will correct the issue. I will get back to you in a few days once I know.

chris1, if I have done the same process for Android what changes would I need to manually make for live/distribution version?

If you submitted with the config file with design, it just means that all changes made in the control panel will be automatically when the app refreshes. I'm sure it will solve your problem. Can you send notifications to design mode devices?

So, let me understand you correctly...As I make changes to the app in Buzztouch, I do not have to resubmit the APK or Archive to respective stores on distribution versions?

Having the same problem here. Just working on Android here. I have went to Google Code and followed all the buzztouch instructions as to where to put the API Key and project number. But still when I launch on multiple devices and simulators. When YES is selected for permission for push notifications, the app just crashes. Please keep in mind I am a beginner developer so I won't be able to understand very technical things. Thanks

Depends on the changes. If you're making code changes or adding stuff or plugins that was not in your submitted version or adding a provisional profial etc.., you'll have to re-submit. If its just adding data or screens for plugins that were in the package, then no, no need to to submit again. If you have the config file on live, all changes made on the control panel will only be pushed to the users, when you publish the changes. If its on design, then as soon as you press save, the changes will be made. So its very important to be sure the config file is on live. Cheers. Miguel

Thanks Miguel and Chris1. You were right as far as my config file being in design mode for the android version as well. I should know by the morning if the push notifications worked for Android. The Apple version will take a few days to publish....but all I have is time. Thanks for the help again!

Ok, I think I am on the right track. At least I get the option to accept push notifications and the devices show up as live devices. However, I am getting this message now. Error sending Could not process Feedback from APNS (1) This is normally caused by an invalid APNS Certificate (tried your Production Certificate)

Ok, I finally got it working guys. You are the best. I think I hurt my back a little after doing the happy dance though. Comes with the territory I guess. Job hazard.

Can anyone provide me some guidance? I'm a bit annoyed after paying for a membership that this won't work in iOS :( I have the same issue: Works in development mode but not in Prod after publishing to app store. My app is in "Live" mode. Any advice or changes that were made to get this working?
