Location Report Screen Implemented Yet? (v1.5 iOS)

Does anybody know if the Location Report (reports current location that can be sent to a URL) screen mention in this thread has been released yet? http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=4395F3C8FA21AB12186B2AE&status=&searchInput=current%20location&sortColumn=FT.dateStampUTC&sortUpDown=DESC¤tPage=1&doViews=1 I have not been able to find the screen in our current options, and a new app I'm thinking of could really use this feature. Essentially, I want to be able to bring up a form pre-populated with the users current lat/long coordinates, have them fill in some extra info, and then submit to my database (with their permission, of course, and not in any way tied to their device). Thanks! Mark

We've talked about adding a CheckIn type screen to the list of options. This would in essence do exactly what you're asking about. Until then, it's a hack. This is the easiest way: a) Make a php script on your site with all the necessary fields, html inputs, etc. Create two fields for latitude, longitude. You can show these or hide these using hidden input fields. b) Next, create a custom URL screen with a URL that points to this file. The URL you enter that leads to your file should include the device variables. Like: http://www.mysite.com/myscript.php?deviceLatitude=[deviceLatitude]&deviceLongitude=[deviceLongitude] Now, when the user loads this screen the app will make the request to the URL and include the device location in the request. You can use this information to pre-load the html form elements. You may also want to show the user this data (or not). When the user presses submit on your form, after also filling in your additional entries, the devices location will be included with the other form field vars. To get the values from the URL initially....it's like... (of course add the damn quotes)... $deviceLatitiude = $_GET[deviceLatitude]; $deviceLongitude = $_GET[deviceLongitude]; Then...somehwhere lower in your HTML part... <input type='text' name='deviceLatitide' value='<?php echo $deviceLatitude;>'> That would put the value in a text field, use type=hidden or whatever as needed.

Thanks, David! That makes perfect sense, and is exactly what I'm looking for! Appreciate the very detailed solution! By the way...did you manage to see my post on the v1.5 iOS background gradient bug? It's still an issue. Thanks! http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=D5D2A79EB7027A16696B6AF&status=&searchInput=search...&sortColumn=FT.dateStampUTC&sortUpDown=DESC¤tPage=1&doViews=1

I didn't...just replied to it. Not a bug, just an issue how it's implemented. Gradients are on TOP of solid. Your theme is putting the gradient layout OVER your screens solid layout. Trick it by using two matching colors for the top and bottom gradient. This bascially sets a gradient over the background on that screen that doesn't look like a gradient because top-n-bottom colors match. Sneaky.
