BG Image Size for Splash Page?

Hi, Complete newbie here, just experimenting with my first app. I will add a splash page and would like to add a background image URL. What size should the image be? Also, I am not registered with Apple yet, I will be making this app Android only to start with - is there any way I can preview it as I am working on it? Hope someone cleverer than me notices this post :) Thanks, Barry

Where you enter the backgrounds image url there is an option to right allowing you to scale the image center, full screen etc.

Thanks. So If I wanted a header image at the top of my menu page, for example, I could make it any size, as long as it was 'header shaped' and it would be re-sized automatically to sit nicely at the top middle if I choose that option?

Splash page and menu page are different. at present header image is not available in the buzztouch simple menu screen. An advanced version be found at buzztouchmods.com. There are only 2 ways to be able to use this 1. set up self hosted so you can use the plugin 2. Add the plugin direct to source code. there is a guide for this on Freds site at Myskylla.com

@barryrodgers, I took your second question and avoided the first because I didn't have a specific answes. Mr Stuck did an excellent job with the first. For a more general answer search "multiple screens", you'll find a link to an excellent article discussing screen sizes. Fred

Just a little info. A good tool for re sizing images is paint.net its free and handy for creating 512x512 hi res image for google play app upload

if you are on a mac...Preview is the way to go. When Photoshop converts a .psd to .png the file is still very large. I always convert then reopen and re-save (re-size if needed) then drag into my Images folder. @MrStuck thanks for the tip on Windows!

I do not have a mac. So, now I am confused. Should I make the images for the splash page 320 x 480 and 768 X 1024 or should I make them 512 x 512 (square just doesn't seem right to me). Or should I just make images to those proportions and they will be automatically resized to the size of the device screen they are being viewed on? I will be adding a URL for the images rather than actually putting them in. Is that the best way to go?

Sorry did not mean to confuse. If should not matter too much what size the image is, if you select scale to full screen then it will be automatically re sized to fit screen and should look ok so long as the resolution of the image is not too low I was giving you the option of paint.net as a re sizing tool just in case you require an option to re size any photos. also when you finish making the app and you want to upload to Google play you will be required to submit a 512x512 hi res image to complete submission. Paint.net makes it easy to create an image this size.
